Powering Dash Cam with OBD2 port

Has anyone powered their dashcam with the OBD2 port? I talked directly with Thinkware ( the product the GM Dealers install) and they told me not to use the OBD2 port if the vehicle is equipped with the push button start/stop button or equipped with auto start/stop which I think they all have now. I’m looking at the Garmin 67W and the have an OBD2 adapter but wondering if any one is having problems with the obd2 power supply.

You can power it off the passenger side fuse panel.  Not sure about Thinkware but my BlackVue has a shut off if the power on the battery goes below "x".  Why risk damaging a very expensive component?
