I/P and Radio Display Very Dim

Hi all,

 

Noticed this morning that my I/P display (DIC, gauge illumination) and radio were unusually dim. Headlight selector was in Auto - and the headlights were on. Drove the truck ... eventually the headlights went off after the photocell decided it was bright enough outside. So I switched on the headlights with the selector - and my I/P and radio displays were barely visible. Battery voltage was 14+V.

It's my 2003 Sierra, just turned 1 yr old.

Any thoughts?

This might be the obvious, but did you turn the brightness up with the roller type knob by the light switch?

Yeah, ok, I'm an idiot - must be the medication.

Ya know I sit there and think about the alternator, battery, charging system, etc. Check battery voltage and everything ... it's the little stuff that gets me.

Boy do I feel dumb for asking that.
