These new trucks drop MPG significantly above 75 mph.  My 2015 Denali with 6.2L and 22's got better mileage than my 2021 AT4 with the 6.2L and 20's.  I think it's the aerodynamic differences between the two trucks.

I definitely enjoy the style of my new truck over the previous versions. And at the end of the day, that's really what matters. Thanks for the insight about your old one versus your new one! Definitely crazy that the older one did better than the new one lol

The aggressive tires probably had a lot to do with it as well, more rolling resistance.  The faster you drive the more fuel you burn,  aerodynamic drag.

There were news articles when the T1's came out that they were supposed to be lighter than the previous gen but got worse fuel economy. I didn't pay much attention at the time because I didn't have plans to buy a new truck back then.

My K2 Sierra destroys this T1 Silverado in Furl Economy. I have to keep it at 66-67 mph and baby it while accelerating in my Silverado 22-23ish compared to normal driving and cruise set at 70 mph 24 mpgs all day long in the Sierra.  But the T1 does drive and ride way better. It has to be that damn HUGE front end and I mean huge!!  They are hard to see over/around. No wonder why they gave it so many camera angles😂

IIRC it the comparisons for the 4.3L and 5.3L 6 speed trucks.

The 5.3 8 speed trucks got 1 MPG improvement.

The 6.2 10 speed 19 trucks got 1 MPG improvement in the city, but combined was the same.

How, why? I dunno.

On longer trips such as to my brother's in northern MN (2/3 four lane 1/3 two lane) or back it does great!

'19 LTZ lightly loaded, always 93 premium or 91 pure gas.

Usually 23+/- and if the computer is accurate a couple stretches 25+mpg.

Soft tri-fold bed cover and everything else stock.

Other than that, running errands etc only 17 +/-.
