What is this decal?

Hello,

 

I have this clear decal peeling off the side of my Colorado truck bed in front of the back wheel well.  I've done an internet search but can't find what it's called.  My questions are would I do any damage be peeling it off and what would be the best way to go about doing that?  As you can see, dirt get stuck underneath it and I'd to replace it.

 

Does anybody know what this is called or can I order a replacement?

It is just there to prevent rock chips. You can peel it off

Paint protector.  Your dealer can order you a new one right from GM.
