I've noticed on my refreshed LTZ that the remote mirror folding works differently than before. Now, if that option is turned on in settings, the mirrors automatically fold in when the doors lock and unfold when the doors are unlocked. Not a huge change, but the fold and unfold using the key fob no longer works.

Anyone else with a refresh noticed this?

I noticed the same thing on my refreshed Sierra SLT. It's annoying as I want to decide when to fold/unfold with the fob.

I'd be leary of using that feature too much due to wear and tear on the plastic gears inside.  I fold mine very seldom.

It's a change, but I'll get used to it. On my HDs, I'd always fold them in whenever it was parked, regardless of where. I'd either use the fob or the button on the door. These mirrors are nearly as large, so it hasn't been too necessary yet. I'll just do it with the button on the door if I feel like I need to fold them.

Don't really think that too many cycles will be an issue with most people, so the gears should be okay for the majority of owners. There are many of components that get as much or more repetitive use on these trucks and works without issue for years. Not saying it can't happen, but it is highly unlikely.

I hope there is an option that doesn't automatically unfold when unlocked.

There are owners that need to fold mirrors to get in or out of the garage....

....also suggests there are owners that cycle them in/out daily.

The option can be turned off in the infotainment center. With the option off, they can only be operated with the button on the driver's door. With the option on, they fold/unfold automatically whenever the doors are locked/unlocked.

I fold and unfold mine every time I pull into or back out of my garage. Done this for years on multiple different trucks. Never had a problem.
