Me and chevy4x4trucks were talking about a possible GM-Trucks.com get-together in the next next 10 months or so(summer?).

One idea was to meet in Michigan, and go to the Sand Dunes..

I'm open to having this happen, but i want to know what your reaction is...  Please post any ideas,  comments, or suggestions!!

Well, I'd like to have it in prefferibly Richmond, VA (for obvious reasons), or atleast somewhere in the Mid-Atlantic.

I've mentioned this to Zane and the other moderators here before, but I'll throw it out here for the regular members to see.

I was thinking, the best chance to have ppl meeting eachother was to have "regional" meetings, Based on time zones.

My idea has:

-EST ppl meeting in the East Coast.

-CT ppl meeting in their neck of the woods

-MT ppl meeting in their neck of the woods.

-and West coast ppl meting in their neck of the woods.

IMO it's the most practical way to do it, and we'll have a better overall turnout then having everybody go to one place that is very far for some PPL.

Well I'm in anytime anywhere.  I guess it wouldn't be all that bad taking a road trip  to anywhere in the US.  The reason that I was thinking about this was because one of my buddies who is in a grand prix forum took a trip last summer to Kansas.  They took a tour of the plant where the make the grand prix's and also raced their cars, had a sort of show and shine/meet and great.  My thinking was maybe we could get a tour of one of GM's plants and the reason that I was thinking Michigan was because they have the sand dunes and a lot of vehicle mfg plants.  But, I am open to other ideas, I guess it all depends on where everyone is located, maybe we should do another poll to see what area everyone lives in.

Give me a time and a place and I am there. I think we have a bunch of members from the PA area so that is something to think about. It would be nice to have something like an auto plant tour or SEMA show or something like that in conjunction with the meet.

As much as I think this is a great idea, I'm with the General on this one.  The feasability of me driving to Michigan is slim to none.  Now a regional event would be a different story.

I think that it would also be a great idea to do this in conjuction with an event.  How about the International Regional Auto Shows.  I know that the one in New York is usually in April, its usually a fun day and there is plenty to do in NYC afterward.

Just a thought.

Here's a Pacific Northwest vote for doing regional meets.  I could probably make anywhere in Washington/Oregon, but California's a big state--it's two full days to San Diego!

I agree with the General. Plus if I dont he might have me put on trial for treason

Regional meetings sound more feasible. Maybe later down the road have one big get together some where. But for now, time zone meets would work. Now if I just knew which one I am in ???

I'm with the regional meeting. Even a trip to VA from Mass will be an event for me. I'd have to scope out all the campgrounds on route, I don't stay in expensive motels  ;)

Besides, I can drag the wife and bassboat along and do some bass fishing down wher the big ones live

Im with the General also.  I think for know we should have a regional meet.  Then like Madfish said have a big meet later on down the road.  BTW  what is the city that we would meet in It all depends on how long of a drive it is.

Hopefully if all goes well ill be at the dunes in May of this yr

So what you're saying is, it would be better to travel longitude as opposed to lattitude by meeting Regionally according to time zones? Hmm, somehting about that doesn't sound right. Why not meet by state at first and see how that goes? Then move your way up...

I don't know about the state one, we don't have a high enough concentration in some of states.  Like WI for example, I think it's just me.  But, I'm not against driving across country, it would be fun.

Chevy4x4trucks is right, Fullsize.

I took that into consideration and figured some states only had 1 or 2 members.

And that's why I said before, the regionals are the best way cause you have a good chance of meeting more members.
