hey all.

looking at another GM. I had a 2020 Sierra 3500 denali D/A.

looking to get another one (or chevy)

I see way more 2500s available than 3500s. I know the differences in them, but had questions about the 2500 torque management.

how significant is it? is it noticeable? those that have 2500s, do you wish you got a 3500 because of it?

thanks

You may be asking the wrong question. TQ management along with traction control are on vehicles to keep novice drivers on the road. And to make the driveline handle the hp and TQ. I always added tuning to dial back TM. The difference between the two trucks you mentioned. Are their ability to handle loads and stability. Maybe you mean load management?

Are you referring to the "all power in 1st gear" on the 1 tons?

Both trucks obviously still have torque management.  I imagine that 1st gear tuning on the 1 tons is slightly different to get that full torque in 1st but otherwise the TM would be the same between both trucks.

I've had both, 1st was a 2020 2500 and now have the 3500.  If there is a difference, I don't notice it at all.

diesel, so they have the same 10 speed

rear diff has a bigger ring gear on the 3500. AFAIK that is the only drivetrain difference besides the torque management

that 10 speed is also used in the FOrd units too i believe,  I wonder what tuning mods those guys have researched for thier trucks?

The 10 speeds are not the same. GM and Ford did not work together on the HD version.

i have no experience with either,

what are the similarities and the differences between the two?

I believe the only similarity is they are both 10speeds.  Otherwise, completely different.
