Just bought a 2022 “Refreshed” Silverado LTZ Z71. Ran the a/c for the first time and notice a humming noise sort of like a power steering would sound that’s low on fluid. Is this normal ?

Mine has this sound as well. Goes away if you switch to heat. I've looked a little into this and many say it's normal. If it is, I'm not a fan of it.

Yeah, I’m not a fan either ! Doesn’t sound good at all. Reminds me of a bad power steering pump sound. I don’t think many new truck owners will be happy either. Especially when you spend $65k or more

Glad I wasn't solo on this. The "humming" is definitely there but I think I've gotten use to it already as I don't notice it anymore. I've either cranked up the volume or getting cob web in the ears, lol, Kidding a side, it does stink.

I have been going round and round about the air conditioning noise with the dealer.  Apparently, GM has switched to a variable vane compressor that makes this noise.  It is very annoying.  While the noise drowns out while driving, it becomes more noticeable when coming to a stop due to less road noise.  The warmer it is outside, the more noise the compressor makes.  The compressor has been replaced once on my brand new $78K Denali truck with no change in the noise.  I have reached beyond the dealer and I am awaiting to hear back in a week or so.

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but did you ever hear anything back or find out anything more about this? I'm pretty sure I'm experiencing this exact same noise on my 2024 3500 gasser. As you said, it's most noticeable when coasting to a stop. This is my first GM truck, and I'm begrudgingly starting to learn that many annoying noises are "normal" according to GM...
