Rear suspension add a leaf

I'm just wondering if I can take the overload leaf off my silverado and just use a add a leaf instead it may not add any height but I'm just trying to stiffen it up a bit cause it bottoms out hard when unloaded and going down the highway I also ordered bilstein shocks for the rear end

Deaver makes a kit for these trucks that replaces the overload spring with a progressive pack.  Are you running loaded?  Is your bump stop hitting the axle?  That's a hell of a bump on a highway to bottom your suspension.

That's unloaded and they aren't very big bumps. I believe it is hit the bump stops.

I doubt its bottoming out, maybe engaging the overload springs.

 

If it is bottoming out, I want a video of it, because I bet some air is involved.

I still don't know what was making it so harsh but since then I got bilstein 5100s for the front and rear and added a 2 inch block to the rear and haven't had any issues since. Rides better than stock now too
