2020 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4, 6.2L

During moderate to heavy rains the truck will sometimes put itself into remote learning mode, preventing the vehicle from starting. Unplugging the negative battery connection and re-pluging it in usually fixes it, but once it got stuck in the remote pairing overnight and another time required a tow to the dealer who couldn't replicate the problem.

Figured it was a software issue but no updates seem to have helped. My guess is water is getting somewhere it shouldn't, but I don't know where to check. Any suggestions?

Newdude found out the drivers door switch could cause it. Sounds like that switch is getting wet.

Just my experience, I would get in my truck and it would sometimes say remote learning and sometimes wouldn't but it wouldn't even start or going into accessory mode. I always had to hold the start stop down for 12 seconds in order for it to stop the learning mode in order to start up. My issue was the window switch that I was able to buy off Amazon for 38$. I no longer have this issue. Hope it helps anyone with the same issues.

I'm  in the exact same boat as almost everyone here.  37K miles and truck has never had an issue.  It did it once, dead battery, replaced battery, seemed to fix it for a week.  One day dead battery out of the blue.  Charged on charger until full capacity on the new battery.  Came out literally after 1 hour....stuck in program mode.  Undid the negative cable, it reset and it was fine.  Came out 30 min later....stuck in program mode.  My negative cable post assembly was a little loose...grasping for straws here, so I replaced.  All was well for 10 days.  Came out one morning, stuck in program mode.  I finally take it to the dealership.  They keep it for a week and do drawdown test, nothing drawing the battery down, can't replicate the issue, so they aren't doing anything.  I told them to read the service bulletin about the door latch assembly and window switch.  They literally are disregarding it unless they can replicate it, even though the bulletin says it can't be replicated.  I may just change the window switch and see what happens, or just go ahead and replace both the door latch and window switch.  So frustrating.

Update Went out day before yesterday battery was dead as a doornail.  Heavy, heavy rain.  I investigated more thoroughly and found damp carpet by rear door.   Kept looking and it was wet further towards the back of the cab.  Look up and the headliner was wet and even more wet on the passenger side all the way at the back.  See water dripping from back glass.  Evidently water was shorting an electrical connection somewhere.  Once it dries, it goes back to normal.  The problem is the rear glass frame is plastic and cracks, known problem for several years of Chevy and GMC trucks.  There a TSB for it but no recall and help getting fixed from GM is random.  I fixed it myself and this video outlines how to fix, as does the TSB.  The only other option is the get the whole back glass replaced for $1,000 or more.
