2017 Silverado Front Camera

Recommended Posts

If it's an aftermarket camera, you will get that.
If it's an original replacement, perhaps the wiring was improperly installed.

No, that's not the placement of the option for the front camera.
It should be mounted on the front grill.
You seem to have an aftermarket cam and the occasional message you're getting is expected.

What was the option? Is this Cameron tge "enhanced driver alert package"?

It isn’t a front camera that is actually a camera like I think you are thinking. The camera provides lane departure and collision avoidance.

Ok....I have that option. Now I know what you mean.

@ MikeBMW....On the 2017, the camera is mounted on the windshield by the rearview mirror.

@Will...I will assume, that the camera NEEDS to be recalibrated if replaced. I do NOT believe it will do it on it's own. When the windshield is replaced, these camera's need to be reset & calibrated to see the lines in the road & car in front. You might try a automotive glass installer for this service.

I suppose it's a different front camera than the one I had installed by the dealer on my 2017, then.

What does your front grill camera do? Did the dealer add an option for you?

What model year is your truck? Looks like a newer grill than a K2XX.

The front camera shows what's in front of the truck when I select it on the infotainment screen.
The truck is a 2017 with the stock grill and a chrome overlay and a lighted bowtie.

Your grill looks much different than my 2017 LTZ

Indeed, your LTZ probably has the bars like a High Country?
I never realized the 2017s were optioned with lane keep assist as the first time I saw it was when I rented a 2020 for the weekend, so my camera does have a different function than the one being discussed here.
