The end of the day is near. It was hectic and stressful finalizing the loan funding. But with an hour and 20 minutes to spare I’ve got a check in hand. My plane tickets are set. Hope for good enough weather tomorrow (rain forecasted) that the flights aren’t delayed.

By this time tomorrow I hope I’m a couple hundred miles into the drive.

I shall report back after I get some sleep….

Cheers fellas

Already admitted i was wrong.

Ya..Saw that after the fact.  My bad.  The whole shared 10spd development with Ford has certainly caused some confusion.

For those that have the new 10 speed what are you're first impressions?  I just haven't seen many real world reviews yet. I'm getting my 24 AT4 this next week.  Kind of anxious as I would like to know how some feel it performs.  I think it should be good but my 23 with the 6 speed is pretty good too.

WOW!!!!!! What a Truck! I am impressed! Those little 10-15 mile test drives do not tell enough. But a 450 mile one does!

Bought a one way ticket Boise to Eugene(OR). Flew out at 8 a.m. yesterday and arrived back home at 11 p.m. last night.

I drove through city streets, twisty mountain roads, crested a mountain covered in many feet of snow, down the mountain on a winter ravaged “highway” full of giant potholes that rattled the teeth, through small towns, ate a $12 Whopper (minimum wage in OR must be high), onto a much improved two lane highway, through a few hours of rain and then finally some interstate then home.

That was a test drive!

First impressions; ride height is taller than anything I’ve owned previous and I like it. Visibility further ahead is nice and will be handy while towing our TT.

The seat is verrrry firm. Glad I made sure we got one with 10 way power driver seat. I adjusted the seat a bunch during the 8.5 hour drive.

Plenty of power unloaded. Needing to pass in short distances I hit the throttle semi-hard. From 60 to 90 was fast. Real fast for a truck.

According to fuel m.p.g. info I averaged 15.9 mpg for 455 miles. I’ll hand calculate when I top off today. I put in 12 gallons 80 miles from home. I was below a 1/4 and didn’t trust the range estimator. Which said I had 133 miles of fuel left.

Having only being around a shiny new truck for half a day I’m probably biased…but fit and finish is fantastic.

I just got up and need more coffee, so that is all for now. I called the Montana salesman this a.m. and told him something came up……and left it at that.

Awesome. Sounds like a fun enjoyable and memorable experience. Except for that insanely priced whopper. 12 dollars?! I hope you at least got cold fries and a watered down drink with that?

I substituted onion rings for fries and surprisingly they were pretty good. Then again it was the first meal I’d had all day and it was 5 p.m.

First order is going to be side assist steps. I’m 6’2” and it’s a stretch for me to get in and out. My wife is only 5’9”…..
