The codes above showed up and did their deeds . I've been able to get as far as testing fuse 47 IGN0 no power on either side of the fuse.

Which leasds to ignition switch ? If I replace the ignition switch again . I don't know what position the little gear teeth should be in. That and I heading the right way?

Before you start firing the parts cannon at it, you need to find out WHY you have no power there. If it's due to mouse-chewed, corroded, or broken wiring underneath the fuse box (or anywhere else), an entire PALLET of ignition switches won't do you much good ... although you'll be expert at changing them.

Believe me ... I scrapped my cannon a long time ago lol A guy said that when hit with those codes  , in title, that the first thing you want to do is go to fuse #47 , box under seat, and from there there are 2 ways to go. If no power at both sides if fuse you take an upper route and it ends at ignition switch . Or power to both sides starts your journey to a lower route.

does that sound logical? I am 99% sure my rats did not get to my wiring . They were only in there a week. Just kidding.

I'm thinking this way to go because when replacing the switch before , I had alot of problems . How it all started was

yesterday, being so nice out, I forwarded the niceness and vacuumed and washed my car. Got done got in and turned the key. It went a flat forward and nothing. Went to take the key out but it locked itself , like it does when the battery is dead.

That wouldn't shock me because I already know there is a drain on my battery and I've just been dealing with it. So I got the key out , put it back in and it started . I'm going down the street and my car has zero power. Let's say I was going down the street but my car wasn't. and the check engine light was on. I went to put my code reader in and got nothing out of 2 code readers. Checked them on another car they were fine. It was a fuse and then when the readers worked I had 5 codes , listed in title, watched a video about the #47 fuse and did that with the result being no power to fuse at all. have any ideas what I can do next?

you're like me. at 1 time I had a 79 Monza with a 305 built motor , 73 Cougar , 73 F250 tall boy with the 1st motor I rebuilt 390. and a 79 f150 4x4 shortbed. oh and a delta 88 with a 455 rocket motor. The car was totally stripped. no door handles , chicken wire for windows, holes in the floor boards . I was proud to drive her that way. She'de put your cheeks on the other side of your face. lol

Yeah I sure miss those days. Stuff was so easy to fix! Lasted forever, too. I spent more money buying and fixing my '07 Silverado 1500 over the years that I could've bought everything I've driven and repaired for the past 3 decades, 6 times over and probably STILL not reach what I've spent! It's sickening ...

The good part is all those codes are transmission related - that's good in that it'll make it a LITTLE easier as to where to focus your efforts. Based on experience, I'm doubtful this is all ignition switch related, but if I've learned one thing in the decades of repairing all things gas-powered, it's that NOTHING is certain.

This is screaming of a wiring problem to me. Best course of action is to get a wiring diagram from ALLDATAdiy - money well spent. Trust me on that one. Without a diagram you'd be better off rolling a set of dice.

What I would do next is find the common denominator for all those codes. Could be one wire, multiple wires, bad ground, or a short, etc., and go from there. See what systems or parts are effected, and trace the wires out to each component. After you do this, often times you'll find they all source power from the same place. As always, do the easy stuff first - battery cables, related connectors, tug & wiggle-test wiring, then move on to the more involved stuff.

This sort of thing is a pain in the ass in person, let alone trying to diagnose it 3k miles away over the net, so patience, perseverance, and a wiring diagram are a must.

you're not going to believe this but I'm going to tell you anyways. It worked and my car is error free !!!

I hope I'm not jinxing myself by opening up my mouth too soon but ....... YAHOO !

I still got to put it back together and take a road test but I think I might stand a chance . I was about ready to junk it bcuz with the latest catastrophe on top of the things piled up behind that I was getting

a bit overwhelmed. It's a 2002 and I've had it 4 yrs . It was a salvaged title. And truth be told ,

I'm more on the FORD side of the fence . Anyway, you're the first person I told and I really want to thank you for taking the time to head me in the right direction. And just "chat" a little bit.

     I just pray I haven't , like I said , "jinxed" myself. Take care of you !

Good deal! Glad to hear it! What exactly did you find?

Well ...... that's a real good question. It's been x amount of days I haven't been here to see if them codes are actually

gone or just played possum for a minute. I do know that my ignition switch did in fact jump out of whack. I don't know whether the correct terminology is "teeth"? or "gears" on that. I make up my own names for things . Sometimes people get me or they don't.  BUT I also learned that just because you buy a part new it doesn't mean that they send it out set to the correct way it should be. I put the new switch in the way I got it and it was not even close. So I had to switch it a few times

I also managed to wedge my butt under the sterring wheel to try and get a glimpse of what the gears teeth looked like

from the key cylinders end and the teeth on that were questionable as well.

I decided to go after where I think the parasitic draw I have is coming from since I am halfway thru the dash anyway.

I guess I'm feeling a bit cocky and froggy right now but really its stupid if I don't. Wouldn't it be nice to just get in and start right up rather than drag out the charger , pop the hood , wait for enuff charge to start up etc. I just hope its where I think it is. Then I might as well go for changing the cabin filter to see if that's whats stopping my a/c from working . Here's the rub on that one. In all my inquiries I've got 50% saying there is one there and 50% saying my car doesn't have one.

My "boss" said there is a 2017 ford flex she was thinking of buying for me.  Do you have any knowledge on that kind of car? If she does I'm going to give my trailblazer to my friend who is a disabled vet my other friend who I hooked up to take care of him . They were both homeless him first and I got him in a place she was second and I put them together because he had people constantly ripping him off $$$. I'm not passing off a problem tho. BUT he is knowledgeable about cars and she is capable to follow instructions. What do you think?

    • Progress... sort of.   Intake is disassembled, spider is out, fuel lines removed. Used a torch on the stripped screw with the lower intake off, much easier when I've got the intake sitting on my workbench, I made it talk. Walked right out with a pair of vice grips once it was nice and toasty hot.   New parts are piling up on my service cart waiting to be installed. Distributor, temperature sensor, new gaskets, fuel line kit, themostat, water neck.   My new pickle is I don't want to spend $600 on a replacement spider. I'm not sure IT is bad. I'm probably splitting hairs. Or it's $300 to send mine away and another 3 weeks of the truck just sitting. I have half a mind to assemble everything with the old spider to see if I can get away with just replacing the fuel pressure regulator to be safe. The obvious issue was the gushing high pressure fuel line which will be replaced. Getting to the spider really isn't that hard, and now I know what I'm doing , swapping it would be a breeze should it absolutely need one. Stupid, or smart?   The part that gives me pause is replacing the distributor. Well, it's already out. And I didn't mark it, whoopsie! Engine was at TDC when I removed it, I know that, so upon correct reinstall the metal tip on the rotor should point to the TDC mark on the distributor because that's where it was pointing on the old distributor. Worst case I'm a tooth off and have to re-stab it.   But then, what? I assume the truck will start. It doesn't appear the timing can be set. Here's the problem: These distributors can't be rotated but a degree or two, by design. What I read is Cam ****** needs to be -2 to +2 degrees, ideally at 0 (and checked/set above 1000 rpm). There should be enough wiggle to get that properly set, but checking the reported value is another potential issue. My Actron 9185 scanner says it supports enhanced GM PIDs and Cam ****** is one of them but it's unclear that I'll be able to correctly see it over OBD 1.5. I can see why people end up junking these things with life left in them. They're an absolute nightmare with tweener-year diagnostics/electronics and unobtanium parts.   Fingers crossed it starts and idles nicely. There can be hope, right? I'ma buy a lottery ticket the same day just in case.   Next steps..DO IT. I have not installed an intake before so I've been reading and watching a lot. Some say NO RTV except on china walls, some say DO RTV on water ports but not fuel/air intake. 1/4 or 3/8 bead on China walls? I think my strategy will be, obviously, RTV china walls with overlap on the gasket corners. Chapstick-style RTV the water ports. Leave intake ports dry. The only set of intake gaskets I could find locally are Edelbrock performance gaskets (uh...for an asthmatic 190hp V6? LOL) so we'll see how they do.   #NoToolLeftBehind. It took an hour, but my recovery mission for my deep 10mm socket was successful. It had rolled down the bellhousing and wedged itself between what I think are the fuel lines? I couldn't see it at all, but with a junk antenna I had laying around, I blindly went poking/sweeping for it, heard it clink, raised the truck, and caught a sliver glimpse of chrome with a flashlight way up there in Narnia. I had pushed it farther along the lines holding it captive, but within access of severely improvised tools, poking and cursing at it to finally knock it free to where I could get a fingertip on it to bring it home.    Not much to see.

    • It wouldn’t have happened if the government hadn’t mandated outrageous fuel mileage standards. It does very little for the consumer. It adds cost. Back during Covid there was a chip shortage. They gave a rebate for your truck if it didn’t have the chip to turn on cylinder deactivation. It was 50$ because at best you may see 1/2 a mile increase per gallon. Splitting hairs each fuel mileage trick wasn’t mandated. The government doesn’t do the engineering work and say use this until it’s already in use and they like it. The fuel mileage was mandated. And those add ons the results. There’s a mandate and they are the results.
