I'm going to be changing out my fender flares on my Denali Ultimate from the black ones to painted ones. Anyone remove and replace theirs? Any tips? I've seen videos of removing the inner fender liners and then slowly pushing in the fasteners and I've heard of people using the plastic trim tool and just snapping off the clips since the new flares come with new fasteners. I'm just concerned with doing damage to the paint prying them off that way. Any tips from those who have already done this swap would be appreciated.

You and I are on a similar path I think haha - I was just looking at my plastic trim pieces today and thinking man...they would look much better paint matched...wonder how to get them off

I can't find a single video for the 1500 trucks, the one I found for the 2500 he did take the entire wheel well liner out in order to get to the pieces easier...

Did you end up doing this?

Yes, All done, link below, bottom line is they are just clipped on, get a plastic trim took behind them and pry off, no need to remove anything, easy job.

Awesome - for some reason the link isn't showing up.

So you just pried them off, snapped the new ones in? Seems super simple! The paint match price tag is a bit steep but they do look much better than the black plastic

Nice! Any interest in selling those if you still have them? I'm seriously considering trying to paint match a set myself instead of paying $800...There's a couple sets on eBay I'm looking at, too.

Also @eppieguy and @elcamino - where did you order yours? Straight from GM Accessories? I'm only seeing a primer option on there, did you contact your dealer for the paint matching? Just in case i go that way....thinking of the time investment, paint cost, etc. i may end up only saving ~$200 give or take...

I got mine though the GMC app, used my GM points, cost me out of pocket $422.88.

They are textured, the paintable ones are smooth as a FYI.

Good point - i'd probably end up with some orange peel...I haven't tried the GMC app before, just the gm accessories website, I'll check it out. $423 is way more like it...Thanks for the help again!

I think they were in the area of $700.00 for the set and they come with the clips, but I used my GM points to pay for a portion of them. They are out there for less money but using my points made it the best option for me.

Not sure if this helps but yes the painted are smooth vs textured. Gm only offers a few colors, white, red, vlack ,and the blueish/Grey color. I purchased oem primered ones and had my paint shop match them. It was pricey but I feel it needed it
