I need to replace both my front upper control arms, more specifically the ball joint, but I figured it is easier to just replace the whole control arm. I looked for some on Rockauto, but I am not sure which brands are reputable.

Here is a screenshot of what is available from Rockauto. Is it fine if I get the cheapest ones, or will that cause problems? Which one(s) should I get?

Delphi, AC Delco or Moog are all good choice. I've bought all 3 on many different vehicles without issues.

The ones listed in blue are the better line of products usually.

I went to detroitaxle.com. A local retail shop in my area uses their parts, the P/Ns on the est. worked at the cited web site. Partsgeek.com also carries the same brand as the Detroit site. You can also shop on Amazon, If your bushings are in good condition I'd change the ball joint, if not then you better change them all. Then I would consider buying the control arm assemblies. The detroit, partsgeek and amazon sites all have package deals where you get the arms, ball joints, idler arm, tie rods and adjusters for a very good price. Have fun!

Detroit Axle is dangerous garbage.  It does not last and has failed on a few cars and trucks on these forums.

The upper control arms are not rebuildable.

ACDelco and Moog CK Series are the same, they are a good budget option that will last a few years.

GM OE is what came on your car 14 years ago.  Buy them again and they will likely last just as long again.  There is none better IMO.

Don't think you can add disperate parts to your suspension and steering and that it will ride and handle the same, it will not.

Pre-Assembled struts are also inferior to GM OE.  We replace each and every piece that makes up the strut to maintain the great ride and durability.  Use a Branick or clamshell spring compressor and make sure it fits our truck springs, BTDT.

What trim level is your Suburban?  Does it have air ride shocks and a compressor out back or the plain suspension?  I have made a parts list if it will help.
