I don't buy they don't raise the temp but only shorten the time it takes to reach temp.   The thermostat controls the time to reach temp.  No water flowing the the radiator until the temp is achieved so the shutters have no affect on that.  And from what I tell, they don't open at highway speeds after the temp is reached.   Their sole purpose is the improve aerodynamics.  How much is not known.  Do they increase engine temps?   I can't say.    But is seems likely.

What type of ATF cooler do you have behind those shutters? 🤔

This is a bit of an old thread, but has anybody on here found a good video walk through of how to access the thermostat on these engines. Everything I can find is the predecessor setup where it’s just to the right if the intake. Unfortunately running into the same issue as OP when trying to replace mine.

I have a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 2500hd LTZ 6.6 gas engine and my thermostat is on the lower passenger side. You have to remove the right front tire to get to it.
