Someone posted that there was documentation of the Stillen Trupower scoop intake providing an extra 2 mpg.  I'm now tending to agree.  After installing the S&B CAI and Borla touring cat-back exhaust I was seeing around 23 mpg at 70 mph.  At first I didn't notice any change with the trupower scoop intake.  I then disconnected the negative battery cable for 2 hours then gave it time to relearn.  Today I had a chance to put it on cruise control at 70 mph for 38 miles.  It averaged 25 mph+  So I'm a believer.  Note:  I did also removed the top row of blades from the Active shutters and taped up the opening around the hood latch.

Try doing MPG for a FULL tank and not some snippet of "ideal conditions" driving. My 6.2 Trail Boss has gotten a best of 20.8mpg on a tank and that was doing 63mph with cruise and AC on on a long straight 2 lane road. My overall average is 14.8. I have the Stillen scoop, AFE dry flow stock replacement filter, K&N intake tube that uses the stock airbox and a Magnaflow muffler delete.

I'm going to add some shade at the Stillen scoop too.  My best with my 6.2 Trail Boss was 24.4 mpg at 78 mph with the AC on on northbound I-15 from San Diego to Las Vegas.  That involves a lot of altitude change.  My powertrain mods at the time were just the GMPP intake and exhaust.  I didn't buy the Stillen scoop until a few months ago because it initially didn't work with the activate Aero shutters.  Now it does.  I'm now down in west Florida and I haven't seen anything close to that mpg out here, and I'm running top tier 93 octane (91 octane was the best I could find in California).  I have not seen any realized benefit from having the stillen scoop.

Driving it. That's about what I get in mine.

I ran from east side of metro Detroit to Chicago and back last week. A little over 700 miles round trip. Ran 75 as much as possible with Supercruise. Every time I looked at the LOM, it was at 21.5 mpg or higher. When I filled up on the way back, my distance to empty read 499 miles. So highway driving these 6.2l engines are pretty fuel efficient.

I ran several trips between Grand Rapids and DeMoines Iowa and outside of Chicago and NEVER got above 18mpg. That was one trip back from Iowa with full gas not mixed with ethanol and a tail wind!

The sweet spot is 55- 58 mph.

I get over 20 constantly with my 23 High Country 6.2. I don't go on freeways if I don't have to though.
