2020 Silverado Rear Sliding Defrost Tabs Broke off, Is there a fix?

I have a 2020 silverado and just recently noticed the rear defrost quit working and I found that the wire or cable that connects to the rear slider broke loose from the glass.  I took it to the dealer to have them look at it and even told them what was wrong and they told me when i picked it up that everything was working fine but I didnt have time to argue but I was like if they didnt do anything there is no way its not working.  It still doesnt work,  anyone fixed this by soldering it back or any other method?

I used the Permatex kit on my '11 Tahoe rear window. It did not last long as the window had power cords hanging from the tabs unlike fixed car windows I have done tab repairs on in the past. My final fix before having to change an expensive window was to hold the tab in pliers, heat it up good with molten soldier on it and stick it onto the glass hot. That lasted for a couple years until it traded it in.

Did you ever get this resolved? I have the same problem on my 2020 Silverado, and I assume the permatex will not last on a slider

sorry im just now seeing this, i had it soldered on for a little while but it didnt hold long and currently still doesnt work.  the location is hard to get to and old solder gun on without burning a seat or something in the truck.   

 

did you find a fix for yours?

I would suggest removing more stuff in the area, so you can do a better job of soldering the wires on, and then do something to reduce the strain of the wires on the solder joint, like clamping or taping the wires up.
