Has anybody installed these on a T1 truck, preferably a refreshed truck with either the LM2 or LZ0?

I have the Trail Boss suspension and I am looking to go up about another inch to level the truck. I did confirm with Eibach that there is some adjustment left if I do need to go up a little bit. They also confirmed that I can make those adjustments with the coilovers on the truck, I just have to take all the weight off the suspension.

I had Halo (rebranded Elka) on my GMT-900 truck and didn't really like them. They were too stiff all around. I had considered ICON but those are Digressive valving and will probably be too harsh for everyday driving. My other option was Fox 2.0 but I don't like the fact that I have to completely remove the coilover and compress the spring to adjust the height.

also, most coilover manufacturers state that if you have the LM2/LZ0, your lift height will be decreased by roughly 0.5" as well.

So, if you have installed a set of the Eibach Pro-Truck 2.0 Coilovers, how do you like them? Truck is a daily-driver on everything from backroads to interstate. Only off-road is through fields or gravel roads to hunt and fish. I occasionally tow and throw stuff in the bed but will likely also get airbags for that.

Those are a relatively new setup. Did Eibach tell you what spring rate they run by chance? Icon uses a 650lb spring, King uses a 600 and Fox uses 550's if that helps. The more preload the stiffer it will be, figure for another 1" lift your gonna have to bring them down another .5" of preload.

They did not but I also didn't ask but I can.

So based on the spring rates you mentioned, ICON is going to be the most firm with Fox being the softest?

Yes and No. That's a loaded question as each valve differently too. The icon's wont have to be preloaded as much to get your desired height, which will help the ride. And while Icon is typically a digressive valving to feel a bit sporty on the street, its still nice.

King uses a traditional progressive valving If I recall, but with a slightly heavier coil, King may be a good middle ground for you.

The benefit with Fox is their DSC Adjusters come standard on the 2.5's and a liner valve. On the 883-06-162's which are the ext travel ones that need an upper arm, they run a 18" 650lb spring set factory to provide 1.5" of lift on trailbosses or 3.5" on standards. That could be a nice sweet spot for you as well.

That being said, Im sure eibach did a lot of coil research and leaned on fox for some internals info. Shock surplus just did a big video on most of the options that may be worth checking out.

I'll check out that video.

For Fox, I was looking at the 985-02-134 coilover since it's more in my budget. On Fox's website it says they are 0-2" but according to Cognito with their Trail Boss kit, they will give 1". I'm thinking they maybe increase pre-load for that additional 1"?

Kings would be nice but I think they would be a little overkill for what I need/want. Plus I don't think I really need an external reservoir either.

I can't seem to find anybody that has installed either the ICON or the Eibach coilovers on the new generation trucks. The most popular seems to be the Fox kit.

I did hear from Eibach and theirs are Digressive and waiting to hear back on their spring rate.

Ya, they must adjust it a bit more for the extra 1". Unless they use a spacer somewhere.

The video i linked they review the eibach and icon. They compare the Eibach to an in between of a Fox 2.0 and a 5100. Dirt King also makes a 2.0 coilover for our trucks, that are made by Elka for them. I know they put a lot into their valving specs and use a 650lb coil if I recall. They are on sale right now also.

I'll take a look at the Dirt Kings as well.

I checked Elka's website and it looks like they use a 550lb spring so it looks like Dirt King replaces that one with a little heavier spring.

Eibach came back and said they use a 600lb coil.

In a perfect world, what is the best combination? Heavier spring with linear valving or maybe a lighter spring with digressive valving?

That's a very subjective thing with variables. If you are dont need much lift and want some softer feel, then lighter coil and liner or progressive IMO would suit you well. If you need more lift, then heavier coil and progressive. If you want a firmer/sporty feel, then heavy or ligher and digressive depending on lift need.

I installed them on my 2019 HC.  Love them.  Ride is so much better than stock. Rides like a truck should and not bottom out over a simple speed bump.

Just to clarify, you installed the Eibach's? About how much lift did you gain and did you have to make any adjustments? Do you think there is any more room for adjustment?

In the instructions, it says you cannot exceed 137 mm from the bottom of the collar to the base so I'd have to be mindful of that.

Do you think there would be anything wrong with using a 1/4" lower spacer on a coilover to get 1/2"? Lets say I can get the full 1" to level by cranking the collar but by adding preload I'm stiffening up the ride. Could I back the collar down for 1/2" of lift, install the small spacer to get the 1" and reduce some stiffness of the ride at the same time?

**Edit - I forgot I had emailed ICON about their spring weight and they said they use a 700lb spring on my specific model. So with that, it won't take a much preload but with the digressive valving might be pretty firm, maybe too firm?

Yes the Eibach Pro. I only brought it up 1.75”. I just wanted a little higher than stock.

as far as the spacer I don’t think it would hurt but might ask Eibach about it. The ride is great and should be this way from the factory.

With a coilover, you have to compare how much travel the shaft has left compared to how much travel the coil has left before it bricks. You dont want to run out of coil before shaft...thats how stuff breaks. Too much preload or changing shock length with a spacer could mess things up.

Do you think there is enough adjustment to go up another 1 inch or possibly a little more?

No, I think the max is only 2" total. but you might want to call Eibach and make sure.  Their tech support was really helpful for me.

They told me that out of the box there should be roughly 9/16" adjustment left on the collar which if needed would be able to give me the additional 1". But, they did say that since all trucks are a little different, they couldn't be 100% certain if any adjustment would be needed.

Thanks for confirming though. It's good to get a real world update as well.

I'm also checking with them if they advise on using a small lower spacer too.

When I had the Halo coilovers (rebranded Elka's) on my previous 2008, they actually sent lower spacers with the kit.
