2017 Silverado LT Z71 with 113,000 miles
I was driving home a little bit ago from a nearby place. It’s only about 3 miles away and a straight shot there and back. While I was driving I noticed my rpm needle bouncing and the truck kind of pulsing in power. I thought this seemed really weird and rolled down my windows and heard a faint noise I haven’t heard before. I pulled over even though I was only about a mile away from home and shut the truck off for a bit and started it back up. The noise continued although it was pretty faint and I decided to just shoot the rest of the way home. When I got home, I crawled underneath and heard the noise slowly get worse over the span of 5 mins. I can hear it the strongest around the oil pan/ transmission pan area but I have no clue what it could be. It kind of sounds like a clicky whine that’s really loud. The noise happens when in park so I’m thinking it’s not the transmission but I could be wrong. I just bought the truck about a month ago and I hope I didn’t get screwed. I’m hoping someone can help me figure out how to diagnose it or help me figure it out in general. Thanks

I have attached some links to a YouTube channel that should have the sound and video of where it appears to be. https://youtu.be/4_-h2mrf0pg?si=y1_llfuU0bApDpN2

Why not post a public response so all affected can learn....that would be customer service

Makes you wonder if they even read the thread. I doubt they will have nay help on a 7yr old truck with 113k on it.

BTW, Calvin, I would stop running the truck and have it towed to a trans shop. The more time you run it the more damage is likely being done. Odds are the torque converter has failed which will destroy the rest of the trans in short order.

I haven’t ran the truck since and I’m hoping that I was able to catch it early enough to save the trans but that’s probably a loss. I think it could be the torque converter but have had a couple people say that it could be the oil pump or trans pump. I’m not familiar with them but either way I think it’s something a shop is going to have to diagnose for me

Did you ever get a resolution to the issue.  Mine is making the same exact noise and I am going through the same process.  Thanks in advance.
