Google and Sirius questions

I don't know where to ask this question, so if not here point me in the right direction.

I have a 2023 Sierra XLT and have noticed that after I start driving the XM radio goes off then back on. No obstructions in the area. 

I also notice that the speed limit for the road I'm driving doesn't show immediately, sometimes several minutes after going. 

I don't know if these issues are normal or not.

Some mapping programs such as Apple Maps and Google maps won’t display the speed limit unless you have selected a destination.   So they just show the speed limit on the route which has been selected.

 

i think WAZE displays it regardless and will alert you if you are 10 mph or more over the speed limit.   I have a 2019 Silverado Z71 crew cab LT… so it might be different on your year of vehicle.

Some times it takes a couple of minutes for the google maps to fully boot up. I find some dead zones with siriusxm.

It's pretty normal (known GM Issue) that the radio goes on and off a couple times for a second within the first few minutes of driving, if your directional signal is on it will not sound either when the radio stops, didn't happen on my 2019 but it does on my 23. I'm going to the dealer and getting the radio updated next week, not sure if it will resolve that issue but it's supposed to resolve the issue with the fan speed slowing down after start up.

My '23 does that now and then. I think the Sirius signal is buffering during the start up. It buffers to minimize signal drop out from obstructions like trees, bridges, etc.

I rarely use the navigation functions, when I do it's usually googlemaps.

Speed limit display system displays the same regardless if I'm using nav or not.

 

Speed limit display depends on the map data -- which isn't always up to date.

 

Nearby there are some roads that have had recent speed limit changes -- but the system shows the old speed. 

On roads that don't have speed limit signs -- it shows no information -- rather than the default speed limit that exists for roads that aren't signed.

THANKS to everyone that answered my question. The dealer said that it might be related to ONstar. I'm kind of thinking that Sirius is or has weak satellite broadcast signals. I find that it does lose a signal much easier now that in 2007.
