Battery reset question

2020 Sierra Denali 6.2

I have lost adaptive cruse control. Lane assist and rear view camera mirror.

Looking for help one last time before taking my truck to the dealer.

Tried pulling the battery cable off for 15 minutes and no change.

I pulled just the negative cable, should I pull the positive too?

Some say to leave off for 15 minutes, but I saw another that said 30 minutes -so should I go longer this time?

Does your truck still have the original OEM battery?  That would be my first place to look.  These trucks are very sensitive to voltage changes.  A battery that is starting to go bad, i.e. bad cell, will start causing all kinds of wonky issues.  If you are still under warranty, take it to a dealer.  If your warranty expired, try a new battery.

If you change the battery I believe you have to tell the computer it's a new battery. If not it will have more issues.

At this point I'd have it scanned for codes system wide.  A dealer can do it with the SAVI device they have and I'd imagine a dealer can at least read them for free.  The one by me does.

 

Question though.  Does your auto stop/start still function after replacing the battery?

How would the computer know that the battery is changed?  It's not like the battery has a chip or something that puts out an identification code.  Should not have any issues with replacing the battery.

My auto stop/start quit working on my truck when the battery first started going bad.  Was still under warranty so had the dealer deal with it.  They said that a cell was going bad.  I think one of the criteria for the auto stop/start to function correctly is the battery voltage has to be at or above some value.  Dealer replaced the battery and everything has been fine since.

Actually have a new ACdelco battery because of it going on 5 years old.

Every thing I read says that the camera is bad or possibly may be able the recalibrate/ restart the system -looks like a dealer only option to sort it out?

Yes stop start still working-also have the factory switch that allows it to be turned off in a2020 -only 39k miles, but out of warranty.

I'm betting at this point you've got a camera fault code, which is why I suggested having it scanned for codes.  If there is a fault code, the frontview camera will need to be replaced and then programmed and setup at the dealer.  

 

You won't have forward collision, lane departure or adaptive cruise (if you have that) without a functioning camera.

Thanks, that’s were I am at this point -going to have to get it into the dealer to verify. 
I wonder what it will cost if the camera is bad?

MSRP is $582.76.  85636221.  You can probably install it but its still going to need programming and learn mode done at the dealer.  Which the pricing on that will vary of course but figure 1 hour labor, some might charge more than that.

The battery is managed by the computer.

It's in the 20 year range since they used just a simple regulator.

 

There is a list of items that prevent Autostop/start activating.  Battery condition is on the list.

Picking up my truck from the today. They did a reflash because the were several sensor& module communication errors. I’ll post what the invoice lists.

Ok, there were several sensor/ module issues, so they did a software update and good as new. Cost was just over $200.00 with tax.
