Hello,

I've got a 2020 L8T and I'm trying to identify a part of the cooling system. Can anyone tell me what this pipe is? I have an external trans cooler rpo code listed on the build sheet (purchased truck used).

I have a pipe in front of the radiator that is "finned" almost like a single row radiator. Looks like a trans fluid line in, through the "finned" section, curves back as a regular non-finned pipe and back to the condenser. Is this what they're calling an external trans cooler? Just a single section of finned pipe? By finned I mean it looks like a caterpillar, I guess would be the best way to describe it.

Looked up the part number that is printed on the line going into it and it says trans oil cooler line, so I'm almost positive that's what it is.

Can anyone verify?

The top one that looks like a big pipe cleaner brush?  That is the power steering cooler.

Oh interesting, been a few years since I've had a power steering pump, I hadn't considered that. Thank you.

I was going to say it's a sorry excuse for a trans cooler if that's what it is!
