My truck has no manual entry tailgate, not the 3 part tailgate either.  Is there a way to shut off the inside chime and the external buzzer when opening????

on hunting trips it's impossible to access gear in the back without alerting everything within a 1/4 mile radius

in vehicle settings it only allows the chimed setting to go down to 50%

This annoys the absolute $hit out of me too.  Hopefully there is a fix to turn it off.

So you have the power up/power down tailgate?

Yes, power up and power down, with an annoying chime each time

As far as the door chime inside the truck when you open it, you won't be able to do anything there.

As for the beeping at the gate itself, whatever component is creating the audible beep, perhaps it can be disabled by cutting a wire or something?

There is no specific speaker there that I can tell, so its either the motor or the tailgate module that is emanating the beep with some sort of internal speaker.  Looking at the schematics though, there isn't a "speaker" wire or tone wire, so my only guess is its triggered by the logic in the module or motor and the tone is coming from inside one of those components.

Is there an external noise?  I thought when I opened the tailgate the only sound was from the inside chime. Maybe I need to pay more attention.

Is there anyone that can hook up to this truck and turn the chime down via reprogram????

mine makes some kind of buzz sometimes from the tailgate I think.  Makes so many damn noises it makes it almost impossible to drive on a hunting trip.

ill see if I can video the noise

There's a beep when the gate is in motion.  Comes from one of the components in the tailgate itself but nothing indicates in the schematics or the description and operation as to where that beep emits.

I'm seriously considering accessing the tailgate and start unplugging things.  I'm out hunting right now, and this morning and dropped the tailgate on the road before the property so I didn't scare anything and my backpack fell out on a bump while driving in.  Had to walk 1/2 mile looking for it.

i can't believe there isn't a software update we couldn't press GM to do!  What the heck is the point of both noise makers??????  In the cab and on the gate?  At least write code to turn the chime down when opening, and then cut that stupid buzzer when accessing the tailgate

The chimes are part of FMVSS standards from the best of my research aka they are required to have them per Uncle Sam.
