Man, I was at Autozone the other day to dump a couple gallons of oil.  On the way out I decided to pick up a couple things.  One of those things were wiper refills.  As I was looking up the part number in the book a worker there helped me get the right ones.

Ok, I go home and try to fit them on.  No dice.  Wrong ones.  So today I go back and again a worker helps me get the right ones.  I stand around for 20 minutes trying to check out.  Finally the girl rings me up and asks for $2.16 extra.  I was confused because they were exactly the same refills only a slightly different size.  So I pay it mainly because I just don't want to waste any more time there.

Go home, try to put them on, and they DON'T fit either!!!  So now I have to go back one more time and shove them up their...   :withstupid:

Oh well, just had to vent.  Today was the wrong day for mixups.  Must be the alignment of the moon and stars.   :sideways:

This is like the time I went into PepBoys or AutoZone or whatever and asked them for a DRIVESHAFT LOOP.  So he says ok, DRIVESHAFT LUBE? with a puzzled look on his face, I say NO...a DRIVESHAFT LOOP!

Ummm, ok he says, goes in back and comes back a minute or two later with some form of lubricant.

NO, NO, NO (now I'm yelling), I wanted a DRIVESHAFT LOOP.  A ring that surrounds the driveshaft incase I snap it at the drag strip.  A loop, L O O P.

He continues to stare at me with a blank look!  I just laughed and walked out.

But of course if you had a Honduh, they'd know all the parts numbers and aftermarket stuff by heart.   :lookaround:

Our autozone is awful!! It takes about 15 minutes for them to answer the phone, then they put you on hold!  When you go there you have to wait around about 10 minutes to get a part, then you have to wait another 20 minutes to check out.  What a crock!!

Gig'em Ags!! :withstupid:

I refuse to go to our AutoZone unless it is a last resort.  The guys behind the counter are IDIOTS but they think they know everything!!!  If their "computer" says so (even if it is wrong) they will argue with you till you walk out the door!!!

I've tried to buy things from them before and they say that part does not exist.  I've made a point to stop and show it to them after I pick it up at Advance Auto up the street!!!!

Sometimes it just depends on who is working there.  In the Autozone close to my house, there are actually a couple of older guys that work there that are very good.  I've gone to Advance here and they were about worthless.  They overcharged me for a bottle of glass cleaner and then the manager told me since I paid credit card, he could not credit me the $2. :withstupid: I told him that he could and just told him to return the whole thing to my credit card.  I just refuse to go back there again.

It is actually the workers, not the store itself! AutoZone here is the only store I can go to and get the right part the first time, plus the guys know what I mean if I dont know the correct name of a part! They also test stuff for free and have a free loan a tool service!! Advance Auto parts and NAPA workers are the worst here! I had to go back to NAPA 3 times to get a transmission filter for my dads 91 K1500 4x4 350! Anything you dont get right and have to go back for is bad, but a tranny filter is a little worse, the truck had to stay up in the air and not moved until we got the right one!!! And I dont even think there were more than 2 transmisssions you could get in a 4x4 1/2 ton 350, if that many, and it took me 3 times to get the right one!!!! Advance is just as bad, I stopped going to those places all together! I cant hardly go in advance and just buy something off the shelf and everything come out right, it took me 5 minutes to convince the cashier that I had an item that was printed in their sale!!!!!! :withstupid:

I have to agree on the NAPA thing - generally the basic auto parts stores are OK if all you're after are items usually on the shelves, but if it's an item usually stored in the back, then I just go to NAPA.

Murray's here in SE MI isn't bad either if you get the right people behind the parts counter.  :withstupid:
