I have a 2001 Chevy 6 L with a 4L 80 transmission and I also have a 2004 Chevy with a 6 L and what all do I need to take off my 2004 engine and 4L 80 to put in my 2001 to make it work

Swap the long block over and that's it. Put your intake from the 2001 on it because that still might have EGR and you need to use your fuel rail as 2001 has a return fuel system and the 2004 is returnless.

 

Everything else bolts up, exhaust, motor mounts, hoses and sensors are all the same.
