Some of yall may know I had a '21 Silverado 2500HD Custom in NorthSky Blue - I actually started the NorthSky Blue club on that HD Page

At any rate, Hurricane Helene swept away and crushed ole Blue - ole Blue is gone forever. And, I loved that truck. It had the 6.6 Gasser and 6 Speed - both were perfect for me for as long as I had him - bought him brand new with 10 miles on him- gonna miss that truck.

And since Helene saw fit to take our 5th Wheel as well, I've really got no use for another 2500HD.

And just the other day I was able to buy ole Gus here.  Gus is also a '21. A 1500 LT Z71 w/out DFM - L84 8 Speed (32k miles) named Gus...

And, I'm really thinkin Gus had to be an old man's truck as he came with a Leer (Leonard) hard tonneau cover. And I've never seen a motor as clean as this one.   And, I went back to red. In this case Cherry Red Tintcoat. I love it.

And, I gotta say, this is the smoothest riding Silverado I've ever owned. My first was a Victory Red '03 my next was a burgundy 07' Classic (the originalGus) , then came my NorthSky Blue 2019 1500 (loved that one too!) Then we got into camping and then came ole Blue the '21 2500HD in NorthSky Blue - they were all great trucks - all of em.

At any rate, here's a couple pics - just glad I've got a truck again

My heart goes out to you and all the others in WNC. I'm here in Goldsboro. I have a friend in South Carolina and he took a big hit as well. It's going to be a long recovery process.

It really will be, Phantom.

It'll be years even before these mountains smell like they used to.

I can't overstate this enough, is that pictures and videos do the situation absolutely no justice at all.

It's a true Catastrophic- actually, they're now calling it a Geological Event.

Honestly, damn a bunch of vehicles and any other possessions- I'm just glad we were able to escape with our lives ....

Gotta give a shout out to my man, Nick -Black02Silverado!

I'm gonna be running Amsoil Signature Series OW-20 in this Silverado from here on out. Also gonna run it in my wife's CX-9.  I also run Amsoil Dominator in my Husqvarna Power Saw

(562xp mkii)

If you don't run Amsoil - please consider doing so and taking advantage of having Nick on the Forum

He's a certified Amsoil Dealer and just a wonderful person!

He and his friends have donated their time, money and truckload's of supplies and just recently a truckload of toys for the children of the mountains that were just devastated by Hurricane Helene

To do all that in this economy is just utterly remarkable!

God Bless you, Nick

Wow - just wow.

Just had the oil changed in my truck

When I bought it from the dealership, it had 32,608 miles - I went ahead and had the oil changed this am with 35,075 miles on it. I had just gotten my 2 cases of Amsoil Signature Series OW-20

I also bought a Wix Filter

I'm assuming the oil that the dealership had in it and probably what was subsequently ran was Mobil 1

After they changed the oil I noticed a real difference in the engine being much quieter - it was remarkable

I had almost forgotten just how good Amsoil Signature Series really is.

I'll continue to change it every 5,000 miles along with a tire rotation

Also wanna give a huge shout out to Nick - Black02Silverado!

Nick, is just a genuinely wonderful human being- i know I mentioned this in the above post.

At any rate, Amsoil is definitely worth the money imo!

Your typical political crap.

But is it untrue? People's livelihoods are dependent on those buyouts.

Your typical political crap throwing out the bait to see who bites.

Are you one of the citizens who lost everything there? Got no assistance?

You didn’t read, READ the article did you???
you missed point again.

The folks who are seeking buyouts, in a lot of cases, have been displaced from their homes. They are in some cases paying mortgages on damaged or destroyed homes,” Calabria said. “And so, these delays are very acutely felt by so many of these families.” Unlike some other FEMA programs that are reimbursement-based, buyouts require an up-front approval from the agency, Calabria said.
