I have a 2020 High Country with the Trail Boss lift and 1.25 level.  I want a high end lift that will basically do the same thing as what I have, with maybe a little more...

When I say high end, I mean, not brands like Rough Country! 

I am thinking about Fox, but I would like to hear from someone that has done what I am looking for.  I am open to most of the better quality brands.  UCAs, fully adjustable coilovers and a good rear setup.  I do tow, so I have airbags, but have almost never needed them, even when I am pulling the camper.

Having room for bigger tires would be great also.

The Trail Boss lift has been pretty good, but the ride has never been great and is pretty jarring offroad.

I just want something really nice and fully adjustable.

It is hard to beleive that no one has any insight on quality lifts...

I hope you already have upper arms on your truck as it is now as levels on Trail Boss/AT4 trucks fail them all the time (ball joints rip right out).  

 

 

Lets also start with how heavy is your camper?

I went with dirt king for shocks, upper and lower arms (waiting on billet uppers). They’re newer to the shock game, but after watching a YouTube video they posted comparing their shocks to others, I figured give it a shot (they’re made by Elka so that’s a plus too). I also run the RAS system in the rear due to having a camper full time. 
 

Reasons I personally chose them:

local to my area, all their items are easily serviceable if needed (by yourself or at their facility), seem to continuously R&D products and make improvements,  helpful customer service and you can actually talk to a real person with real answers.

I am looking at Dirt King also.  I wanted to consider thier long travel kit, but not for the right reasons...  It would look cool and the better clearance for larger tires.  But, my use case is for less off-road use than that kit is really made for.

What you did is much closer to what I think makes sense for me. 

The new Heim UCAa look great but I think they will require much more mainenance the the tube style.  Thoughts?

I am also looking at the LCAs but I am wondering if our OEM LCAs are a weak link.  Are the OEMs limiting anything with the outcome of lifting and using the truck with the lift?

What size wheels and tires are you running?

I haven’t got things installed yet. Waiting for their new for the billet uppers with OE style bushings (didn’t want heims). as far as the clearance, they list the required wheel backspacing needed to clear on their site. 
Most don’t replace our LCAs, definitely a bit of bling factor (same with billet upper), but definitely stronger. Stock Arms( I imagine) are built to bend if in a wreck to save frame damage. So that may be a drawback…

I’m not looking for much of a lift though, a little higher in the front over stock AT4 is cool, rear I may put a 1.5” block instead of the 2 (RAS lifts the rear up enough)
 

Im running 17x8.5-10 w/ 285/75s.

I am leaning towards getting the same set-up actually.  The tube style UCAs may be great, but the billet looks so much better and is more adjustable. Did you go with the 2.5 coil-overs?

 

I am going to add the alignment cam locks and the swaybar end links.

 

The only thing that I wish I could change is doing away with the gold...it just won't look good with my blue truck.

yea I got the cam locks and end links. I went with the 2.5 w/ reservoirs. Also agree as far as color, wish it could all just be black. But whatever…. I’ll be taking off whatever stickers possible on the reservoirs for sure. 
I’ll update whenever the billet arms are in stock and I get everything installed. Sounds like May-ish last time I spoke with them.

    • What’s missing in all this is patience and investment in the future. Buy a 170K starter home. Ten years later sell it invest in a more expensive home.     • People mislead themselves. Statistics are highly useful indicators.   Here's the tie-in to this thread. If an oil sample tests shows a wear indicator of 7 using cheaper ACDelco oil, and a wear indicator of 2 (lower = less wear) using a particular brand of Mobil oil, and wear has a linear relationship with engine lifespan, anyone could assume that Mobil is reducing wear by more than 50% (let's just say a 200% reduction for you red state people trying hard to do math) which leads to increasing engine life by 2x. Perhaps, in a vacuum, by itself, when dreamed by AI.   Yeah?! That's what the statistic is saying, isn't it?   No, it isn't. It didn't come out and say engine life is doubled. That's a very bad assumption, and a case of severe myopia by assuming something potentially untrue about the only data point in focus.   Average cost of a new car is 50k. You bet it is.   The median cost of a new car is more like 35k. Expensive cars are skewing the perception that "average" now means a $50k price of entry for a very average automobile. And that's not true. People who don't understand statistics twist the living heck out of them to mean all sorts of things they don't actually mean.   "Average" new car payment is $1000/month. Yep, it is. And in that number are all the $35k new car buyers who bring significant equity, and the $25k new car buyers who finance the car for a month just to get a rebate, and then pay it off. Know what isn't in that number? All the payments made by people who don't finance a car.   Picking one's own data point (don't have a car payment, never paid $50k for a new vehicle, my house cost $170k, I afforded a middle class lifestyle on $4.50/hr) is just a data point. Just like earning $25/hr in an area where the median home price is almost $1 Million is a data point. In fact, it's a lot of data points given that 80% of the US population lives in/around major cities. They're not idiots; the vast majority of them do it to make a living because that's where the big money is.   The highs have become higher, lows have become lower, and how your personal mileage varies is not truth for an entire country. At the same time you can't NOT acknowledge the data. While it doesn't paint YOUR personal picture, it certainly tints the reality that you also live in, as does your single data point.    
    • Glad you had success with it. I did as well, but about 5-6 months later it returned. Tried again, same result. This was after the dealer made several attempts and never even got it to slow down.
