But will the 2027 Silverado have automatic stop/start force-enabled? Or will GM give consumers the option to leave it off?

I'd bet that they were developed with it, and it will be defeatable just like they are now, with a switch on the dash.  The ability to leave it off all the time, anything is possible.

The only thing that has changed is the credits went away from the EPA.

About the only extended cab I'd take. Crabwalking before it was cool. In the picture the rear steer angle is opposite the front to decrease radius, but they would also track with the front when changing lanes at speed. Another GM design way ahead of its time.

Its a shame the updated for 2005 version never hit the market as they shrunk the axle width out back to make it fit with a standard sided box instead of the 1/2 dually flares.  Of course I can't find the picture right now, but it was a red crew cab short bed behind a fence with the rear wheels turned and everything.  The price supposedly was cut as well.

The Silverado EV/Sierra EV/Hummer EV 4 wheel steering works great though.  And is the same principle as the old Q-steer, just modernized.  Less complex since its IRS out back for suspension, so its like designing the front but for the rear, instead of a rack mounted to a diff cover of a Dana 60 like Q-steer used.

Could the narrower version still get 48" between the wheel wells?

Honestly, not sure.

Interesting rumor. Dealers near me have been tight-lipped so far, but if this reveal actually happens next week, I'm really hoping they finally give the HD a proper interior overhaul. The competition has been eating their lunch in the cabin department for a while now.

This thread started March 5th.  That was one week after that date for the GM dealer conference in Las Vegas, and dealers attending did see the new Silverado.

So no, no reveal "next week", but there was a showing in March to dealers.

Probably not at this time on the HDs. They are usually 1-2 years refreshed behind the 1500s. I'm really surprised they have not at least shown something of them yet. It's only a few months left before the new model years hit the dealer lots.
