What are you running and how do you like it?

Posted

I have a Diamondback SE and it does a good job but I have stuff attached to it that makes bed access limited other than from tailgate. I have a Bedrug XLT in the bed so I can save my knees while crawling into the bed if I fill it right up. This is not ideal but is a rare occurrence so I put up with it.

If I take the tent off and the side mounted bike racks off, I can open the front and back sections even with the lower racks on.

If I want to run a 5th Wheel, I would need to take the entire setup off.

I've been shopping between Real Truck and Peragon covers. I don't even have my truck yet. it's on a train somewhere and should arrive in the next week. I think I'm going to order the Peragon cover. I think it will work for me.

GM Accessory Tro-fold by REV.  Ordered it with the truck so it would be covered by the Bumper to Bumper warranty and also because I have had it on my last 2 trucks (2017 & 2021) and 100% satisfied with looks and functionality.  It has survived harsh Michigan winters and always looks new.  With the GM ones,  if dealer installs at time of sale, covered by B-B warranty, if you install, not covered by GM but the cover maker (REV) warranty applies.

Slight correction to your warranty bit.

It is a non GM warranty from day one.  No bumper to bumper warranty coverage.  All the tonneaus are that are IBP (Integrated Business Partner) which they now call "Associated Accessories" are provided and warrantied by a 3rd party and sold via GM, but not manufactured by GM or warrantied by GM.

Same goes for the hood deflectors, window visors, any accessory that has "Associated Accessories" at the end of the description.

We have a sheet with all of the warranty contact phone #s for all sorts of the products that are "Associated Accessories".  Kicker, Advantage (formerly REV), Thule, BackRack, Adams, LoadTamer, Borla, etc.

Now, something like the GM splash guards or a GM tonneau (look up 87816007 for example), those are covered under B2B when installed at the time of purchase, or are 12 month warranty for over the counter sales.

I had the Diamond Back on my last truck, and it did not work for me.

I can't believe a dealer person would BS me.  I never got anything about the cover warranty with the purchase.  I just looked in the truck and nothing there, unless they will handle it for the customer.

Warranty booklets are in the tonneau packaging.  Tech who installed it probably tossed them.

Yes, dealer would handle the warranty work for it.  They call the # if there is an issue, and parts are sent out, etc.  I've had to before, the tonneau suppliers are great.

Truxedo ProX15. I put it on in 2022 it’s just as good now as day one. Very low pro and made of nice material. A couple drops can get in up front and I mean only a couple during a big downpour but I don’t care about a couple drips. Never had things get wet inside.

Fill4.thumb.jpeg.ea33d941151498e18466681508a976fd.jpegI installed the Diamondback HD and love it. The cover is very heavy and the struts help with lifting so not the most adaptable. However, if you want durability get the HD.

Here is a picture of accessing my bed mounted winch and another showing a cubic yard in the bed without removing the cover.

Had to switch from IPad to Dell PC to get the image to post correctly. So much for driveway inversion
