I have a 1969 GMC C2500 Dump truck with dually. I need to replace my rims and tires as they have fallen off once and tried a second time. The lug nuts just keep coming loose. My son worked at LeSchabe and said that the rims are no good. That I will have to tighten the lug nuts after each use (he was right). So here's the rub. The truck has a bunch of mods (Dump bed being one of them). Built in Oregon. I want to upsize the tires (Currently they are LT235/85R16) Since the Speedometer says the truck is going 7 mph faster than it really is and the 411 rear end makes it nuts to travel at 60 mpy (3K rpms), I want to get a little more out of each rotation of the tires. It has a SM465 4 sp manual transmission and Granny Low is about 4 mph, 7 mph max. Need recommendations. I usually only put 1.5 yards of dirt and rock in it so that's about 2000 lbs. 69 GMC C25.HEIC69 GMC C25.HEIC

maybe post some pics of the "bad" rims? the front ones look fine.

are you sure it's got the right lug nuts?

On both my duallies, torquing them, then re-torquing them after a day or two of driving around really helps w the lugs not backing off. Also making sure the mating surfaces of rims and hubs all being clean/rust& debris free, and my lug nuts have the captured washers on them, adding some lube to the washer/nut joint so the washer can spin freely (not getting lube on the threads though), also helps with applying consistent torque, so they don't come off.

When I got my first dually, the rear lugs were regularly working loose until I starting doing the above every time the wheels came off, so much so that I stopped using hub caps and put on those lug safety markers to check if they have come loose.
