NAV and 6 disk changer in a Silverado

I have a 6 disc indash radio. Can anyone tell me the difference between part number GM# 25753974 and GM# 15196055?

One is probably a casting number, the other is a GM part number.

I looked both part numbers up on gmpartsdirect and both say 6 disc but the 25753974 is cheaper. I just want to know if anyone knows if it has all the same features as the more expensive one.

I looked at this diagram and it covers all but three wires for the AUX cable... Do those three just hang loose behind the dash? Anyone have a better diagram?

Question for Linda and Poonis,

Now that you have these great systems, could you add an aftermarket DVD player, with plug and play, you know so that you can access it with steering wheel controls?

you can use the PAC AAI-GM24 to add aftermarket DVD, PS2, or anything that has preamp out. to use the steering wheel controls, you can add SWI-X and it will control one of the two aux preamp inputs of AAI-GM24.

Now that you guys have the changer added, can you tell me, if you know, if I can remove the "Manual Dual Zone Climate Control" and replace it with a "Computerized Dual Zone Climate Control"? Just like the one in linda's picture...

Hopefully without too much trouble, i.e. not having to have the PCM reprogrammed...

you can not do that. To many sensors and relays need to be installed....and you would definately need the BCM reflashed. Sorry

Well, I got my changer hooked up...works like a charm

Now, all I have to do is get it mounted, something tells me this isn't going to be easy. There is a large piece of ABS that I will have to cut out brom behind the changer, and I need to find some screws to put it into place, then I have to line up the trim piece and cut out the pocket.... :flag:

Any of you guys have any tips, or some pics I can look at? I'm scared I'm going to mount it crooked or mess up the bezel and have to fork out $195 for a new one, just to cut that one up too.

i installed mine at middle of night and didn't take any pictures during the install. now it looks like it would have been a good idea to taken pictures.

that little plastic piece took me time to remove. it's not solid, so it's not too bad. i used a dremel and just grinded the heck out of it. it was just little messy and really loud when grinding. but with that plastic piece out of the way, my cd changer fit pretty snug. then i just used some screws (i thinks they are called self-tapping screws or something) to hold it in place. i really didn't have to line the changer up since it rested on a platform in the cavity where cd chager slides into and the metal brackets on the changer prevented it from sliding too far back.

as for the bezel, i used a metallic silver color sharpe marker to make a mark (my becareful around the mark point) on the bezel, trimmed away a large chuck of it first, and used a file to file away little by little until it fit. it's trim little, try it on, trim some more, try it on again, trim, and so on. i too was little scared that i was going to mess it up but it was worth it.

Hey Guys,

I have been watching this thread and now have the money to do this upgrade. I have a 2003 2500 HD Duramax, with the factory Bose radio, XM radio, driver priority, and a factory RSE. If I install the NAV unit and the CD chager will I loose driver priority, XM radio or ability to listen to the RSE over the NAV setup?

Thanks in advance.

    • Thanks newdude!  By the time manual selection is needed, I'm probably too much of a control-freak to depend on the transmission sensing braking to activate automatic downshifting.  I would be anticipating the situation and already be manually downshifting.   This truck replaced a 2004.5 LLY diesel with the Allison 5-speed.  Putting it in T/H made noticeable differences (when the torque converter locked, upshift points, downshift behavior).  On this 2024 gasser with the 10L1000 I haven't been able to detect much, if any, difference.  Ok, I can never tell now when the torque converter locks up.  But I also don't notice differences in shifting.  For downhills, I've probably already manually downshifted by then anyway.  Since it's also more awkward (than the 2004.5) to engage/disengage I don't even bother.  Or maybe it doesn't really matter with just a 3k lb. camper in the bed?   Thanks also for the list of reasons the charging system might select various voltages.  However, what I am seeing doesn't fall into any of those categories.  It very definitely, and very consistently, rises after coasting/braking.  Maybe not immediately, but not very long after coasting/braking.  Very consistently drops voltage when no longer coasting/braking.  It might also be interacting with the camper battery charging (I might disconnect the camper and see if it changes the charging behavior).  I also need to recheck turning on headlights for when I want to force it to charge the camper.   Another JR, in June I converted the camper to LiFePO4.  Since it's not a good idea to try to charge lithiums directly using truck, I installed a Victron Orion XS DC-DC charger (which BTW is AMAZING!!).  Being cheap, I only had to buy that one item (besides the battery, of course) to do the conversion.  The camper OEM 120v battery charger (only 19 years old and works perfectly) and the truck feed the input to the DC-DC charger (not at the same time).  But I didn't want the camper charger feeding back to the truck so I kept the old separator.  I considered replacing the separator with a 30amp diode but that means more work and might add another 1/2 volt drop.  One thing that surprised me was the voltage drop over the long 10awg wire run, so I can only charge smoothly at 8 amps (because the DC-DC charger is completely configurable).  Another reason I don't want an added voltage drop with the diode.  I might also be a little lazy but all this work is being done under the sink with a small cabinet opening.
    • apparently CA smog is (or at least was)  checking that the vehicle is using the oem and/or a ca smog approved tune, so I expect you'll fail inspection doing it.
    • yes, leaking exhaust will mess up o2 sensor readings, which in turn messes up fuel trims.

That was disappointing.    This was one of her bigger bills and still way cheaper than a payment even given the oil consumption. This thing cost me under a hundred a month in repairs and normal routine costs. What is my incentive to replace it? 🤔
