Extang bed covers

Any of you using the Extang RT or full tilt ? Would like to put one on my truck but wanted to see if anyone has used one of these or a similar one before I went and purchased. I like the look of the RT but not sure how well the velcro will hold up. I looked at the review board but didn't see any postings.

I have the Extang (Velcro) and love it. It installs easy, it takes only one person to roll it up and it looks great. I purchased mine from truckexpressions.com and they were the cheapest (at least 100.00 less than a parts store).

Have the Full Tilt on my S-10. It's a NICE cover. A couple things I like about it.

The snaps can be swapped so you can pull the vinyl tighter in the summer when it's softer and in the winter when it's harder to stretch you can set them for a shorter pull.

The bows can be in one of 2 positions, one is for aerodynamics and one is for looks.

The frame the vinyl attaches to can be removed as an entire unit. You lift the cover, detach the struts from the part that stays in the bed (with places to attach the loose end on the cover frame) and the whole thing slides to the side and out of the hinge channel.

You can also roll the cover up, remove the bows and you have a wide open bed. The rear rail stays attached to the rest of the frame making tailgate-down loading a little difficult.

Install took MAYBE 45 mins in near-zero weather, in a confined un-heated garage. Overall, I'm VERY happy with the cover, it seals well against water intrusion, even in car washes (touch-free and normal brush-type), easy installation and the latches were set up nice and tight but still moveable even with a spray-in liner.

I got mine from www.accessconnect.com and if I didn't have a discount there I would have still paid under $300, it's $285.95 with free shipping to the lower 48 (still a handling charge of $5.90). Most other places are $315 plus shipping. Oh yeah, looks like Extang now warrants the tarps for TEN years...

I have the Full-Tilt on mine.

I opted for the snapless model as I don't like the looks of the snaps around the edge. It has a bead edge that hooks into a channel on the bottom edge of the rails. I was concerned at first that it might not hold well, but so far after 6 months it hasn't pulled out , and the top is still snug and tight.

My only beef is that the rear rail doesn't fully seat 100% onto the top edge of the tailgate (barely noticeable gap there). This could simply be that the tailgate needs a minor adjustment. Otherwise, a pretty top notch item.

I picked mine up from Summit Racing for about 350 I think.

I'd look at an Access Cover. I have had mine since 97, switched between 3 trucks and it still looks like new.
