Which means the truck gets loaded down with seed and bounced through the fields again. Only 700lbs of corn seed on in this picture, though it does go much higher at times.

What the seed gets dumped into.

where ya farm at? looks dryer than it does here in Northwest OHIO. nice rig for plantin... kinda grueling to fill all the boxes, isn't it? We're still planting with an 856turbo and an 8 row White planter with liquid.

Guys in South Central PA should start planting this week maybe even last but here in western PA the grounds still to cold. We had snow showers 1 week ago.

JP- are you guys jumping on the bandwagon and planting alot of beans or are you taking advantage of the higher corn prices.

Been there...done that but on a much smaller scale. My grandfather had a small cattle ranch(165 cares) and we used to plant wheat and vech(sp?) every year along with fertilizer.

Ever heard of a "dream machine"? It would only hold about 1000lbs of mix.

Na, its not too bad in corn, only eight of em get filled up, doesn't take too long. In beans we've got this nifty deal I put together three years ago now, sure takes some of the work out of it.

As for everything else on the farm, location, etc, look here.

gave20- We're sticking at our 50-50 rotation once again. These bean prices won't last for much longer I don't think, and with the corn N going on last fall, those acres were set.

Nope, no storms hit our area, they hit over to the east of us an hour and a half away or so. Just got a little rain out of it.

Crops like those just aren't grown in IL. This is corn and soybean country by a huge margin. A little bit of wheat is grown down in the central and southern portion of the state, a small amount of oats here in the northern part, scattering of hay everywhere, even some milo down in the southwest portion. Did you know Illinois is the leader in pumpkin production though?

Don't ask me why a view such as this for hours and hours and hours excites me. Guess I'm just a bit warped.
