wcortesi Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 I've got a squeak somewhere around my cup holder in the console on my 2000 Z-71. It usually happens in the morning when it's cold and it's been driving me nuts! Does anyone now the procedure to take apart that part of the console? It would be nice if I could just get the cupholders out and look around for the offending part or parts!
cyclejerk Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 If its like mine you can just pull up on the cup holder and it pops out. I do this to clean it all the time. I also have had the entire console out so I could add a 12v receptical to the back for the kids DVD player. I also added a 12v to the inside of the compartment for my cell phone. Anyway, if you want to take out the entire thing.... Remove the four bolts in the bottom of the compartment and all the screws around the top outer edge. Remove two screwws from the rear(under the rear cup holder). Then remove the cup holder as mentioned and remove two screws from the front under the radio area. I think that's all but I cant be sure as it was awhile ago.
wcortesi Posted May 15, 2004 Author Posted May 15, 2004 Thanks for the response and the advice! I'll give that a try tomorrow. Maybe the cupholder part just needs some cleaning!?
