New Truck

I’ve been away from the board for a while, but I thought I’d send a post about my new truck. After not being happy with my 02 1500 Z71 I decided I needed something a little different. After all the accessories I added on to improve the looks, all I made was a lot of wind noise and a lot of problems. I decided to get a 04 2500HD Sierra in the sweet Carbon color. Since I only haul a 2up snowmobile in the bed of the truck, it won’t be used to its full potential, but I’m impressed with things so far. The 04 seems much more solid than my 02 did, plus you can feel the extra power this truck has, especially with the 4.10 gears. It feels like a real truck and not something soft and giving. I’ve never traded vehicles after owning them for only 2 years before, so I sure hope I’m happy with this one. I even had the dealer put the step bars and everything on for me. I think it’s just about perfect. The skinny Bridgestone’s were replaced too. I have the takeoffs if anyone is interested in NE Ohio. I could let them go for real cheap. Here is a link to the first pictures. What do you all think? I should have gotten this truck in the first place, but I guess we all make mistakes.

Congrats on the new truck!!!

I switched from a '00 Excab 4x4 Silverado to a '01 HD crewcab. I agree that the HD's are a much more solid feeling truck. I traded my '00 in with just over 4K miles on it.

I put 265/75's on there this time. I had 285's on my 1/2 ton and thought they would look good on this truck, but decided to play it safe and put smaller ones on these rims. They turned out to look pretty good on there. I didn't want to adjust anything on this truck, even the torsion bars. So I just left everything stock.

Thanks for all the replies everyone, I just can’t stop peaking at her sitting out in the driveway. :D

Nice truck Mighty HD, it looks almost identical except for the bigger meats of course. They look good on there.

I had a 2000 Z-71 and my dad has several HD's so I know what you mean about them feeling completely different. The SS's have yet a different feel with the AWD and Z60 suspension.
