Free mods do help

Hey I'm new to making posts but have been around the forum for a few months. I have a 99 GMC Sierra 5.3 with 160,000 miles on it. It was my dad's truck until he recently got a new 2004 Silverado. It has always been a pretty quick truck but nothing wrong with making it quicker so I looked all over the net and have done all the free mods I could find. They include TB coolant bypass, EGR mod, air box mod, air tube mod, and descreening the MAF sensor. I haven't had the truck dynoed before or after the mods but I know the free mods work because now I'm able to take by almost a car length, my parents 6.0 ESCALADE and by several car lengths my friends Lincoln Blackwood with the 5.4. My friend said the Blackwood runs a 15.9 1/4 so if thats true mine runs slightly faster one day I'm defintly going to take it to the track. I would defintly suggest doing any of these free mods. If anyone has any questions about how to do them just email me. Also if anyone knows anything I can do for free or cheap please tell me. Thanks.

Those mods you did would probably add like 2 hp, and a loss in torque.

 

Was the Caddy in Park?

 

Did I tell you guys about the time that 4 cyl s-10 with the painted valve cover, and lund hood scoops killed me by like 3 seconds in the 1/4?

So your telling us that you did this stuff:

And got over 70 hp and 50 TQ????

Well 295 hp and weighs a lot less than the caddy 100 pounds 1/10th of a second in the quarter you do the math. Also those hp and torque ratings are at the flywheel so the H.O. 6.0 is 385 torque at the wheels it may only be 290 maybe not that low but it may have more drivetrain loss than my truck. I'm not saying the Caddy is slow or that I pull it big time I'm just saying that the free mods do work. No way i added 50 hp and 70 torque maybe 10 or 15 if im lucky. I'm telling you races that I've had, it's not like I'm making it all up I was just recommending the free mods to anyone on a budget who wanted to get some free power.

275 I guess those mods add a little more hp than I thought. Thanks for telling me what year my truck was. I guess If I was gonna be really badass I'd get an S-10 then spend money and time making it as fast as a regular fullsize. I doubt I will ever be THAT bad ass though. I went to your website and I have to say that truck went through some serious mud. But dont give me sh*t like I'm some kinda ricer fag. Vote for Bush.

So having a V-8 S-10 is dumb? news to me... Most people that see my truck go nuts....

 

I always thought that doing stupid mods that really don't affect anything and claiming 70+ hp was kinda tacky..... but thats just me....

Yeah beacuase I was claiming 70hp dick. Thanks for putting words in mouth. Cus I did say a v-8 s10 is dumb. I think you need to learn how to read before you start posting. I said now my truck can beat my parents ESCALADE by almsot a car length. ESCALADES are fast, I don't know if you have lost to one so therefore think it's impossible for me to beat one. They aren't Vette's though. I don't know why you talk so much crap about my 5.3. I was trying to help other people out in a similar situation as I was but I guess there is a dick in every forum. Looks closest to the finger I'd put up.
