Lockers

I have an 02 1500 silverado. I am trying to get lockers or atleast limited slip in the front. I have been told by many people that its just not possible with that housing. Has anyone heard of someone swaping out the housing or putting in a solid front axle? Also if I just did lockers or limited slip in the rear and left the front alone how good is that for wheeling.

A locker or limited slip in the front in conditions like snow or wet roads will make your truck not steer. That is why the MFR's dont make it available. The locker or limited slip isnt much of an advantage for all around driving. If all your going to use the truck for is strictly off road then go for it. :fume:

I had a power-lok unit in a Dana 60 on a Blazer I had (and rebuilt obviously) and it would steer with it locked. Granted on dry pavement it was real jerky but on slippery conditions it would not be as bad.
