We got a deal on a new 04 Tahoe for my wife, but it is the same medium grey metallic color as my Avalanche. So I had a buddy who owns a body shop do a two-tone job with a silver metallic bottom and fender flares. They offered the two-tone in other years, but not in 04. We are pleased with how it turned out...

Don't tell me you drove all the way to Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet in Newton,NC to but that thing. I live about 15 miles from there, 5 miles from Jr.'s house, 6 miles from DEI, and across the cove from where DE himself lived about 10 yrs. ago.

Looks great, the only suggestion I have would be to maybe paint the front piece of plastic right under the grill to match the lower 2-tone color. :ughdance:

No, the truck was purchased at a Sewell in New Orleans. The tag is from ebay... :ughdance:

I wanted to paint that to match, but the black plastic is textured and according to my body shop buddy, you'd have to add too much primer to make it smooth, then if it chipped, it would chip all the way to the plastic. I had to remove the original textured black fender flares and buy smooth paintable ones...but I agree with your suggestion, it would look better. :ughdance:

First of all, that truck looks awesome...love the two-tones, especially in gray/silver/pewter type colors. The gray avy is one of the best looking I've seen as well, those wheels were the perfect choice.

You can actually get a smooth paintable version of the front bumper cover. The part number is 88937339 (GMPartsDirect wants about $140 for it shipped ($64 for the part and $75 shipping). I can actually understand shipping being kind of expensive, but that's fairly extreme, given that either Fedex or UPS (forget which) wanted $50 to ship an entire grille shell, and I overestimated the size of it to ensure space for extra padding. I'd try a local dealer instead.

By the way, II found that PN from GMCJoe's parts page:

If you do order one, make sure that's the right number (that page has served me well before, though I've never ordered this part myself).
