Difference betwwen 4.10 & 3.42

A simple expination would be a diff with a 4.10 gear ratio it would take the driveshaft turning 4.1 times to turn the tire 1 revolution. A 3.42 would take 3.4 turns for 1 revolution of the tire. With the same size tire on the 2 gear ratio's it would take more revolutions of the driveshaft(engine speed) in the 4.10 to go the same distance as the 3.42. Hence(did I type hence?) a 4.10 is using more engine rpm at any given speed. Great for towing not for MPG.
