Adding outside temp sender?

Recommended Posts

Posted

I've read with great interest about people changing the turn signal stalk and gettng cruise control.

Has anyone done any other experimenting with things like the outside temp sensor? As trivial as it sounds it has come in handy on other cars that I've had. Icy conditions on the freeway being the main thing to keep an eye on.

Is it a computer reflash? Can the sender just be added somehow? I'd like to know your thoughts. I don't know where the factory sender would be located either.

2005 silverado....basic DIC information only, mileage, odometer, and engine hours.

I added the temp/compass mirror to my 04. The plug for the sensor is in front of the radiator but, the standard mirror connector doesn't have all the pins for the sensor. I had to run 2 wires from the sensor plug up front to the mirror after adding the two pins to the mirror connector.
