Top Speed

How fast will an ext cab 5.3L 4.10's 4x4 with a 6.5ft bed run? I've not had mine over 80mph yet but my friend with a 2003 identical trim and options says his will go 110mph. Can anyone back this up? The F150 that I just lemon lawed topped at 95mph because of the governor.

They are all governed at 95-99 mph---just shy of the magical 100 mark.

I've pegged + my 120 speedo a couple of times now, about 300 more rpm past the 120 so I'd say pretty close to 130. Was still pulling strong. Of course that's with a Wester's custom tune! Stock was right around 100.

Just yesterday I was on the highway I was doing 90 and there was plenty left. I guess I could easily top 100, no problem. 4.8L 4X4 EXT CAB SHORT BED.

Stock, I had mine to 101, was still pulling, but not much.

With my tune, hit 120 and was still pulling pretty hard, but I really starting feeling the wind resitance building, so I'll guess I've got 125~130 in it...

I'll find out one day when I have enough road !!!!

My HD was @ 120 this weekend, GPS verified when I was driving myself to the hospital. A 30mile ride took around 15 min. I don't care what anyone says, it hauled ass thank God. I was hit by a speeding truck and I was on a 4wheeler. Thankfully the hd will haul ass....

How are the rest of you guys verifying your speeds over 100mph, or what ever the speedo stops at? Mine was governed at 95 mph.

I changed the tires on mine. I verified by a Garmin Street Pilot III. I could really careless fow fast I was going at the time. I just went back today and saw the top speed saved for that trip.

Never drive anymore than 6-7mph over the poasted speed except to pass. Think i hit 80 then. 4x4 trucks with there high center of gravity are good rollover candidates.
