Here in Denver they show the Chevy's and Fords driving through the snow in the mountains like it were dry pavement.

Do you remember the Dodge commercails they had in the 80's where they used to drop Dodge trucks out of sight in on the set from above while Iaccoca was talking in them? And remeber the ford commercails with them climbing a pile of cinder blocks with a 1/2 chevy in the back of truck? (it had engine had tranny removed though) An then the Chevy commercails in the 70's with them towing a 747 and plowing a field? They all use ruff and tumble commercails from time to time.

Ehh...If he had his seatbelt on he would have walked away with minor scratches, and that damage will buff right out....

Seriously though, that looks terrible, I dont think any truck could have went through that, well maybe one from the Craftsman Truck Series, with the roll cage and whatnot

The American trucks would have made it because they are much heaiver and better built than the aluminum and plastic Jap wannabee's. That is if you drive a American truck you would be smarter than to drive it off an overpass.

I doubt anyone would have walked away from a wreck that bad, Toyota, Nissan, Dodge, GM, doesnt matter....and as far as "american" trucks being better built than 'jap' trucks, I think some here, including myself would disagree, dont take me wrong, I love my Chevy, but its about time the little (some big now) "import" trucks get some respect, just because the name on them may have originated in Japan, they seem to get looked down upon, even though they feed the families of many American workers that build them.....and I do infact think the overall build quality of my friends Tundra is a bit better than my '98

not in my opnion. I have a 98 and with the milage i put on my trucks not to mention the abuse I dish out, I have never had a better truck. The imports leave a lot to be desired when put side by side with any of the big 3 when it comes to the full size. the imports should sitck to the 4 cyl. econo boxes and leave the trucks to the experts.

I think not. I was in a wreck a few year ago were a American van pulled out in front of my old toyota carmary and impact speed was about 50 MPH. the Toy ate the van up and humped the frame in it and the roof too. The toy was beyond economical repair but still was running after impact and could be run up on to a trailer to load and the car was perfect from windsheild back and all 4 doors opened and closed like new and perfectly aligned too and no cockpit distortion either than I could find. The "Japs" crash build their vehicles quite well and if I had been in a american car counter part of that era I may not have been typing this today. That car saved mine and my wifes life plain and simple and it had no air bags either.

It would not matter what you were in - being 80ft in the air - falling - then coming to that infamous sudden stop. Your internals have to be turned to Jelly. As far as the Jap vehicles - If they ever make a true fullsize instead of a 90% one .......... lets just say I will have to look at it .

I just hope whoever did that wasn't trying to "jump" something and live to tell about it. That would be a shame.

On the other hand, perhaps the driver intended to end it all--sane or not. If so, it's still a shame.

That was probably a good truck.

I have owned a chevy, ford ,toyota and a nissan.I dont think it would have made much difference at the speed he was going.I hope he new GOD before he left this world. As far as quality goes they all have there problems and quirks. It all depends on what you need the truck for in the first place.Opinons are like?I let you figure out the rest.
