I just saw a commercial that showed a Mitsubishi truck  I went to thier website and sure enough the 2006 Raider. It is called a midsize import truck that comes with a v6 or v8, ext cab or crew cab and in iether 2 or 4wd. I think it looks alot like the Nissan truck. It will be interesting to see what thier version of a truck will be. A car wih an open bed like the Honda or an actual truck. I bet the Colorado will be able to run circles around it

Intersting vehicle the Raider is. A 4.7L V8 and 290 lb-ft of torque from a midsized import. Wonder how it will compete with the other imports midsizes like the Toyota Tacoma, Honda Ridgeline, and possibly the domestics. I'm actually starting to like the Ridgeline, and the Subaru Baja, although small and somewhat underpowered at 210hp from a turbo'd flat-4, is a cool little vehicle. A shame that the Baja doesn't come with the Outback's 3.0L 250hp H.O. Flat-6 boxer.

I'll start lauging now....they have the nerve to bring over a new "iffy" product when they are almost extinct in the USA as it is?

Being based on the Dakota is the only way it would make sence, they don't have the money to develop a gamble like taht on their own.

Mitsu shot themselves in the foot when they canceled the Montero Sport and went with the endeavor (which is uglier than an Aztek).

I liked the Montero Sport (gone), Diamante (almost extinct they don't even list it on their website), and Eclipse GT (this one is still around)

The Eclipse line is really what is holding mitsu together and in this world as far as im concerned. I don't specially like the Eclipse but it is the best vehicle in my opinion that mitsu has out now. Plus teens love the eclipse! They will spend any amount to have what, "Everyone else has!"

I, myself, would rather stick with american cars! When i was sixteen my first car was a Trans Am, and has been nothing but GM ever since!!!

Hehe... Should have known that DC-AG was behind the curtains on this. After all, they were both partners in the DSM cars. Yeah, after looking at the site again, you can see where the Dakota has its influence. Mark_in_Tulsa, you're on the money again. sir! Thanks! :driving:

WHAT

THERE WAS MONEY INVOLVED IN THIS!!!!!!

Yeah Mitsu, and DC have had several prodjects together. Some good some bad....

But I don't see this truck doing to well at all. There are very few mid size trucks out there. The Dakota, Nissan Frontier, Honda Ridgeline and maybe the Tacoma are the only ones to come to mind. So why would you build a copycat of the Dakota. 9 times out of 10 the people will buy the Dodge brand before the Mitsu brand. Its going to have to have cool new features that the Dakota dosn't have.

The EVO is what is kepping them alive, IMHO....its Gran Turismo image is keep the whole company alive. The current Gen Eclipse is all but a joke withthe tuner crowd, the last gen is a lot cheaper and a lot faster

has amyone seen the new 2006 Eclipse GT commerical yet? that is a GOOD LOOKING car IMHO. 260 HP, a 6 speed manual, starting at 19,400!!!! Cobalt what? SRT-huh? RSX-S?
