still going on this tank of gas! The low fuel light hasn't even came on yet. Whats the most miles per tank from the rest of you out there?

d**n, that'd work. I usually see around 300 give or take to the 1/4 mark. That's generally fill-up time for me. I think the most I got was about 400 miles on a roadtrip to KY once.

I actually got 556 on 26.7 gallons (I saved the receipt---was sorta proud of it) with my '05 Crew. Can you say "fumes"? This was all highway with a non-stop tank-to-tank trip, averaging about 65. Three passengers and a bunch of tent and camping gear in the bed, uncovered.

More typical is about 430 with mixed city and freeway. Lots of in-town hills.

My '03 Z71 extended cab can't even come close to this.

I filled mine up yesterday at 425 miles without the low fuel light on. It took 21.3 gallons to fill. Most of that was highway miles in Ohio and PA.

When it is all highway I go over 600 regularly.

Normal gas mileage = ~19@70mph.

34 gallon tank

19*34 = 646 miles. Of course, you'd cut out around 600 when the low fuel light came on =).

One time drafting off of a trucker I hit 21.5@80mph.

21.5*34 = 731 miles. =)

Long bed power!

On edit: The d**n thing takes 31 gallons with the low fuel light on.

31 gallons * $2.20/gallon = $68.20. =(

The best I can recall in recent history is about 400. This was in the days when I still had a working gas gauge. I'd almost swear on 400, but maybe not.

I'm afraid to go much past 315 now, so I guess the 400 figure is probably a little optimistic. I don't have a gas gauge so I'm a little afraid to test it. (Sienfeld anyone?) I just recently made a trip from Houston, TX to Ferriday, LA to New Orleans, LA then back to Houston, TX. My best fill up came about 20.12 MPG, and while following my stepdad at @ 80 mph (they have an 04' Dakota Crew 4x4) I managed about 19.3 MPG. I think the ideal range for my truck is about 2000-2200 RPMs...so that puts about 70-75 MPH.

I wish I could have made part of this trip without the Magnaflow setup. I'd be kinda interested to see what kinda highway gains I got out of it. I notice about a 0.5-1.1 MPG increase with city/hwy mixed driving.

All in all I think its a pretty efficient little pickup considering its getting ready to celebrate a 12th birthday and 200k miles. :chevy:

Can't wait to get me a NBS. :loser:

EDIT - I gassed up yestserday morning. 19.37 gallons @ $2.10 = $40.68. Stepside OBS trucks have 24 gallon tanks right?

I'd really love to see some numbers from Wester's owners in both 4.8s and 5.3s...I know you guys are out there...

I have never seen more than 360 miles on my 5.3, and this is with a 24.8 gal fill up at the pump. I wonder if our system (Guatemala) uses U.S galon or Royal Galon at the pump, nobody seems to know....

This is with city-only usage.

My numbers on the 4.1L 6cyl in-line( 1998 OBS Work truck) are in: 24.5 Km/Gal thats about 15 MPG city...not as good as I thought it would be...

In my 04' I could go 450+ easy on the highway. 21.5 mpg was not uncommon. It had 3.42 gears though. My 05 with the 4.10's--jeez , I am lucky to get 300 miles to a tank. Can you say 13.5 mpg! But the 4.10 umph is much nicer than the 3.42's.

350-385 miles average (16.5mpg average) never wait for the low fuel light on purpose.

In June I went to Ohio and back. All highway = 19.5mpg, 425 miles per tank, no low fuel light.

Just filled up today, got about 412 miles and put 23 gallons in. I have the wester's 87 tune. Not bad concidering some city driving, but mostly highway. City driving still kills mileage, Still concidering getting a Airaid intake but not sure if it is worth it.

I'm lucky to even get to 300 anymore, used to get to 330 right after I purchased the truck 2 years ago, stupid gas additives that they are required to put in now to help reduce pollution. Add to that the fact that my gas guage doesn't work for crap anymore and I won't risk going over 260 miles to the tank now.
