You made my point, especially when you included the word "others". As if we don't have enough distraction while driving already? Now we're going to devote even more of our attention and vision to the dukes of hazard and Duke Nukem while driving? I hope for God's sake you don't injure or kill someone as a result of being distracted by these things. That would be a terrible guilt to have to live with for the rest of your life.

 

Now they'll have to pass yet another friggin law to ban these things from the front seats, all because common sense seems to be in short supply these days.

Thanks guys! I got it for my passengers and myself. I can play playstation on my break s and lunch while at work, plus I can watch music videos and movies while driving. I usually dont look at it unless I am in traffic or at a stop light and I still glance up every few secconds.

Like the gauge cluster... It looks very nice...

 

BUT!!! You look up every few seconds! Now that just scares the Sh$t outa me! I hope I don't have to drive next to you while you are looking down at your screen the other 2 seconds... Watching videos etc.. while driving and even while in traffic would qualify you for a murder trial here in TX if you get into an accident and killed somebody...

 

I like the install quality, but you should not be distracted by this kind of crap while driving down the road... Video screens belong behind the drivers line of site! In the back for the kiddos or the passengers in the rear of the vehicle... I think there is a law here that states something to that effect...

 

Do I use my cell phone? Yes, but sparingly... Do I get distracted while driving? Yes. But, why add to it by trying to watch a movie!!!

 

I'm sorry, but I think your installation is dangerous! Even if it distracts you for a second, it could mean the lives of someone I care about... Mostly MY children!!!!

meaning I only look at it while at a stop light or in traffic, and even then I glance up every few seconds to make sure I am still supposed to be stopped. I DO NOT look at it while driving.

Install looks great. I'll agree with the comments regarding the possible distractions. Of course there are far too many these days from about anything. We're all adults and just need to make good and responsible decisions that enhance safety on the roads.

It was not too expensive... $270 for the screen and custom made bezel (includes shipping to my house) $5.00 for ebay power inverter, $35 (found on this forum) for a PAC adapter to input the audio to play over the factory bose system, and the PS2 from my living room that I never used (free, but around $200 in the stores)

 

so just the screen is a little over $500 for everything.

 

the system was $60 for PAC adapter (ebay), 4 gauge amp kit $20 (ebay), used JL 500/1 amp $300, 2 new JL 10W3 v2's $300, custom made box $50 (from friend)

 

so I have a little over $700 into the system

 

under $1300 for the full setup.

 

and for you guys that don't like or "approve" of it then to each his own and I guess thats why you don't have one...I will let you watch mine sometime ;)
