Tire problem

Not sure where to post this. Basicially I pulled in somewhere and hit a the corner of a concrete parking block, that was broken and sticking up at an angle, with the sidewall of my tire. It took alittle chunk out of the middle of the sidewall, down into the white rubber layer (?) of the tire (maybe a 1/16th" or alittle more deep into the white area) . Should I be looking at replacing this tires ASAP or are the sidewalls pretty thick on the stock bridgestones? Anyone ever have something like this happen?

 

I am hoping my spare has white lettering so I can use it if I decide I need to change it and not shell out the $$$ for a new one since I only have 15,000 miles on this set.

If it is only in to the white layer, you should be OK.

Just keep an eye on it for awhile and see if it grows or bubbles out.

 

Our company trucks get many cuts and tears on the sidewall and they are ok if they are not too deep (like an 1/8" or so)

You may be ok, but I wouldn't take that chance. Spend the money and have some piece of mind. Hate to have a blowout and hit somebody. That would cost a bit more than the price of a tire.
