Getting initial false "Driver's door open" msg

Read this only if you have an understanding of the electrical system for door locks and remotes...(sorry for the long post)

I just had a Viper 160VX remote starter installed on my '05 Sierra SLE CrewCab. Since the starter uses it's own remote, I'm not using the factory remote. After I start the vehicle with the starter remote and placing the car in Drive, the message console shows a Drivers Door Open message; then disappears. The door isn't open at all.

I know it's not a mechanical issue with the door switch since I used the factory remote to unlock the doors, start the car, and place in Drive, no Open Door message appears.

The Viper remote starter system automatically locks the doors the moment I step on the brake pedal to shift into gear. This is in addition to the auto lock feature that comes with the truck. As I pull away, I do hear the relays from the factory auto lock feature kick in. I was able to eliminate the Viper system from giving a false open door message if prior to placing my foot on the brake, which will activate the Viper's auto door lock feature, I manually flip the unlock/lock door switch. I had to have a couple of modules installed to address the anti-theft system and for the door relays.

Before I take this issue back to the installer, does anyone know or have a explanation of how the signals are processed and what wires are in use that relate to the Driver's Door switch?
