Also for those that don't know FF 1.5 just came out. Suppose to be much faster.

Thanks for the update about 1.5 being available. I can't tell a big difference in speed, but I just downloaded and installed and haven't had a chance to thorougly test yet. I might note that some of the plug-ins no longer work. Inparticular "Mozilla Calendar" and "Minimize to Tray".

 

And yes, the tweaks initially posted do work. I ran across them several months back and have been using them every since.

While it may make your browsing a bit faster...

 

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

 

This slows everything down on the servers due to multiple simultaneous requests. If more people used Firefox, it would bring a lot of servers to a crashing halt.

 

Thus making the page not load at all.
