Alternator?

I have posted a few times on here about a whining noise. It happens in the lower gears while excelerating. Is this the alternator? It seems to me that it might be the problem? I have brought it in for service and they cannot duplicate the problem. Whatever! I have heard that the alternator's are just crap. Anyone replace them? Thanks.

Probably. Is it an aftermarket part? I bought an aftermarket when my stock went out and the rebuilt aftermarket whines like a beach. I just ignore it. I was told if I want one that is quiet get a new AC.

Sounds like an alternator with bad bearings. If it locks up be ready for fire works under the hood. Or bearings exiting the alternator at a rather high velocity.

Mine is the original the truck came with 6 1/2 years and 87,000 miles. I think they are excellent alternators.
